Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a complete collection of the '97 onwards MPi promotional films in good quality? There are some on YouTube and other websites, but the quality is poor as the footage has been compressed in order to be uploaded. Here are some examples of the films I'm looking to get hold of:

I've tried downloading the videos and improving the quality, but there's only so much you can do when the original file is such poor quality.

I would like to build up a complete collection of every advert and film of the MPi models, so if anyone has the originals or good quality versions, or knows where I could get hold of them, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know.

Many thanks.

I have downloaded that one yes. The ones I'm having trouble finding in good quality are the official Rover ones.

Not sure who would own the original films you are after but, the BMIHT at Gaydon may have them.

I have several VHSs and DVDs produced by them containing all manner of earlier promo films etc from the launch in 1959, Raymond Baxter testing a Clubman on Top Gear in the 70s, some Austin Rover ads from the 80s, (including 'Minis have feelings too'), to the Monte Carlo Minis from 1994.

Maybe they'll get to put the later films on DVD at some point assuming they own them. Not sure if BMW might have a say though.

Possibly worth contacting BMIHT to see what they say :-)

Argh, somewhere I have an original Rover CD that was a Mini promotional CD with videos/footage of the MPi.

I have my Mini things between two houses but I'll have a hunt for you.

Matt.

The 'Minis Have Feelings Too' ad featured a City and a Mayfair, not a Mini 30. My copy is on VHS so, I've got no way of copying it for you, sorry :-(

Have a look on YouTube, it's on there and was uploaded by our own late, great Taffy1967.

I believe I do yes! I remember watching the videos from it again and again when it came out, being 15 at the time and without a Mini of my own.

Matt.

Do know where I could get an original copy of that? I'd be very interested in buying one.

Thanks everyone for your interest.

They came attached to the official Mini 40 party program. Got mine from the actual show back in '99 but, I've seen them on eBay.
