Well since buying the delorto i'v bought a weber to. If i see something on ebay going cheap enough ill buy it ! ;)

I now have a good selection of manifolds, trumpets and air filters so when i take the car to have its first power tune ill have a phew things to test to see what preforms best for my purpose.I have a nice Pipercross Air Filter and a K&N but unsure which is best. Any ideas ????

Started making up the Braided Fuel Hoses tonight, it takes a phew goes to get the hang of it and with a little patience the results are looking good. One thing did stop me in my tracks tho was id bought the wrong 'T' pieces so back to Demon Tweeks tomorrow if i get chance ;(

Things are slowly coming together and still on corse for my track day in March, i might be a little optimistic but need an aim ! If i can have the car running by the 22nd ill be sending my entrance fee.

id choose weber over delorto any day. more people know what theyre doing with a weber and stocks parts. the guy we use for our race cars with webers, peter baldwin, has every weber part under the sun. so its always done right.

use KnN for sure. get some KnN oil and re oil it, then youre good to go!  if youre doing some very cold rallies, think about making some form of warm air box, as these carbs suffer from icing up in the cold. and that would suck on a rally. maybe re route some piping from the heater to near the carb?

yeah they can be a pain, but if you tape up the ends with a thin bit of masking tape it can hold the braid in so it doesnt splay out and you can usually get it in one. it doesnt effect the seal either because that part doesnt seal :)

Heated Air box Mmmmm I have heard of the problem but not sure how common or how cold it would have to be to cause a problem ??

Would i be right in thinking that the Carb should be Kept warm and not the air going in ???

I'd say any single figures would be a problem. Ask cooperman, he has done many a cold rally and knows from experience!!

Well it's both. If you keep the air warm the carb won't get chilled and the jets won't freeze up. So both if you get me?

I have two manifolds, one is a 5" Steel Mainflow and the other is a shorter Aluminium Jobby. I'v decided to use the Mainflow but not sure which trumpets to use.Ill take some pictures tomorrow and maybe you could help identify exactly what iv bought. Not sure on wether to keep what bits/parts i have left or sell them. Decisions decisions ;)

yeah for sure!

the maniflow 5 inch ones are good for power, should be a good choice!  the ally ones can be good but it depends what one you have. if its a swan neck manifold (short with 90 deg bends inside) then its scrap. theyre useless. if its not and its long and flowy and has a water heated tube id use that, to stop carb icing further :)

but stick some pics up. for trumpets, short with a 3/8 radius lip are best for power, and longer ones, 2-3 inch long on a megaphone type flare with a 3/8 radus are good for torque. but show us what you got!

Weber 45, with the maniflow manifold and a KnN, for sure!!

The alloy inlet doesn't have a heated water jacket skits just heavier and probably not as good as the maniflow. And the longer trumpets should give you a slightly better torque reading, as they're longer:)

Ideal ! I was thinking along the same lines ;) Don't suppose you would like to buy The Delorto,Alloy inlet manifold and new pipercross air filter ????????????????????? Ha Ha ;)

Have you ever fitted the Gear Remote inside the car ??

Are there any special linkages required ???

Baha I have enough carbs!:P

Someone will though, 250-300 pound would be a good deal

What gearbox is it, remote change or rod change? (remote ones have a long ally extension off the gearbox)

If its remote change then you can't, but you can with rod change, it is possible to do it yourself, Anythings possible, but KAD do a good kit that's very well made!!

Rod change pal, I thought it would need some sort of linkage Kit. I'll take a peek at there web site.

Woooooooo Nice but rather Expensive ;(  I'v seen a mini with a much simpler and cheaper set up.It seemed as if the Rod came in the car through a hole and a piece of rubber to seal the hole. I'll do a little more research before forking out £300 ;)
