awsome!

but oversills  :mmkay:    hahaha just kidding mate stronger for the rally yumps and bumps;)

yeah ive just fitted that cage to mine, was easier for me, mines a mk2, but still.. bit of a bugger none the less!

have you strengthened any of the shell at all? are you going to modify the subframes for jacking points so you can do it quickly and no positioning hassle?

I'v strengthen both Sub frames as per D.V Book.Seam welded and fitted gussets and lots of Red Oxide. I'v not gone to too much effort to strengthen the shell as i knew i was fitting a 8 point cage.I would not bother fitting anything less really.Pain in the rear having to cut squares out of the outer sill tho, I welded in 4mm plates for extra strength for the Roll Cage Mounting points. I'v also beefed up each end of the sills with 4mmm plates (Jacking Points) and also welded angle steel along the Rear Sub frame (Jacking Point).

How is it easier to fit a Roll Cage in a  Mk 2 ?????

I'd planed to do forest type events eventually but as the build costs increase i'm not sure if i'll bring her out in the rain !!! lol I'm hoping to enter some Historic rally's next year along with some hill climbs. Entering the RAC 2015 is my goal ! Hence the Belt & Braces Build. I don't think she'll be light enough to keep up with the Anorexic Track Cars  :D But he who dares wins !!

Looking good mate.... My car was also used for hill climbs before I got it.... I've just finished converting the rear back to seats and putting the rear bins back in, I've kept the cage in as well.....:0)... Enjoy the build

Nice to see another teal blue ...:0)

Cheers James

With the cage feet , have you bolted these straight to the floor and rear arch ? On mine they where plates welded to the floor and arches then bolted through these, on the sills there's one on the inside and one outside

I found a suitible Diff for my Build in one of my old Gearbox's. Not sure what car it was from originally but the ratio works out as 3.9  Did The Allegro's have this ratio diff ???
