just read this all the way through - what an amazing build! If only all welders/painters worked at that level - you get what you pay for I suppose. I notice you've taken off the towing eyes - it's a shame over-riders make them useless by being so close - I wanted one on my Mk1 replica.You can fit the instrument cover plate in the bulkhead with a bit of adaptation of the hole for the speedo cable (and moving the voltage regulator), but as I doubt if you'll be driving it anywhere it's probably better to be able to see the nice shiny backs of the instruments!Plus one for swapping the instrument faces back to black!%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j32/johnR21/007_zpshnocltto.jpgJohnR

Hi, I saw this at Stanford Hall yesterday. I was hoping to see it as I have been following it on this forum for some time. Very glad I did as it is truely amazing! I am now in the process of restoring a 1968 Island Blue Mk2 Austin Mini Countryman to factory condition and if I can get it half as good as yours, I will be very happy. You have built a stunning example of a woody traveller and I hope you win many more shows with it. Well done!

I have one on mine and with the overriders on its virtually un noticeable. Its the work of 2 minutes to remove the overrider and corner bar (2x bolts, 1/2" spanner size) making the towing eye easily useable if required. - Ask me how I know  

Bought a towing eye at a mini show 3 years ago but never got round to fitting it. Finally did so this summer and hoped I wasnt tempting fate and that it wouldnt be needed .......

Well done Spike at the NEC,

 

I almost had mine along side yours as I was asked if I would be a wild card if needed on the Meguiare's stand but they did not get back to me. Maybe next year  "sigh". Your Woody is doing wonders for the Marque and great to see it doing so well and deservedly so.

 

One day I hope to get mine at a major show so roll on next year.
