Under the bonnet, boot and floors have now been painted to cover up the original yellow. A harness bar has ben ordered, so when that arrives the new seats and harnesses can be trial fitted and all the grotty old underseal under the arches has been scrapped off and fresh stuff applied. So its pretty much ready for it's new shiny coat of paint booked for the 1st of march.
But it's since developed one or two issues, the first being it taken to either starting or nothing, so I've got to go back through all the engine wiring. The second problem (witch was already known), is the fuel gauge doesn't work. I've pulled the wire off the sender and connected it up using a short piece of spare cable directly to earth and the fuel gauge works. So I set about replacing the sender in the tank with a 'new' one that came with the car. Cue a bucket full of fuel ending up just about everywhere but the bucket and the senders were swapped over, only with exactly the same fault as before. So I'm not really too sure what it could be? As the wiring and gauge seam ok, as the previous test showed they worked, but with the 'new' sender the gauge still doesn't work.
