Ok guys can we place any requests for L2B tickets in the wanted section as opposed to here. Similarly any tickets that are for sale will
need to be listed in the classifieds section.

Thanks Muchly

I'm thinking of taking my 4yr old son on the run as he would love it. Does anyone know if this is ok? Also, I have no intention of starting at 5am, so is it ok to rock up around 7ish?

I dont think there is a problem with age - so long as he isnt driving . I'm planning on taking my 11 yr old.  Dont recall seeing anything in the run booklet about it, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.  And I hope you can roll up at 7ish too as I havent done 0500 hrs since leaving the Army!!

The starting up at 5 is just to get your mini in the que Ready for the run in the morning.
If you don't do this like I did and you end up at the back of the que you don't get out of cp until about 3pm :(
This was the 2011 run, not sure what its like now.

It's sold out as far as I know. I believe that LSMOC (the organiser) sometimes keep some tickets back for sale to club members and then release them for general sale if they're not required. I'm not sure if that's the case this year, or if it's already happened though.

Failing that you could always put a wanted ad in the wanted section here nearer the time, as there are usually a few ticket holders who aren't able to attend/drop out for whatever reason. Alternatively you could join the 500 or so unofficial entrants who join in the run along the way each year, and then find their own parking on arrival at Brighton.

At CP, there's the lower carpark iirc you can park in as opposed to coming into the main carpark/camping area (think unofficial run holders aren't allowed in the upper carpark) or failing that anywhere along the streets nearby. You cant miss the huge convoys of minis going through London once the run has begun in Sunday.

Down at Brighton there's quite a few carparks - correct me if I'm wrong but - I think there's some info on the L2B website for the unofficial parking nearby.

Time wise at CP, the queue for people getting their run bags (plaque, t shirt and all the other goodies) starts at like 4 last time I went... Was six a few years ago but seems to be getting earlier and earlier.

Don't think the run begins til 8 but I have to confirm as to when the minis are released from CP

I've been doing the "unofficial run" for the last few years (come to think of it, the last time I was an official entrant with a ticket, was back in 2002!) I'm not really into queuing, camping, or sleep deprivation, so I tend to give the crystal palace end a miss and stay in the luxuary of a nice warm, quiet hotel by the side of the Side of the A23 in Crawley instead. Then at around 9am (usuallywhen I'm finishing my hot cooked breakfast,) I start to hear the familiar drone of A-series engines coming past the hotel, which is my que to jump in my mini and join in the run!

At the Brighton end I usually park in the Marina, which is not only next to Madeira drive, but parking is also free there for 4 hours. There's even a small alleyway/footpath there that links the Marina to Madeira drive and the rows and rows of minis. http://www.brightonm...ut/parking.aspx

I suppose one day I might come back and "rough it" at crystal palace with everybody else again though!

Be warned. If you are staying down at CP, be prepared for a sleepless night haha.

For who ever did the run last year, were the minis out into the queue at night or early morning Sunday?

I do like the sound of this, the queuing is a nightmare and like i said the last time i did this in 2011 we were at the back of the Que to get out of cp, took ages to get out and by the time we got to brighton the show was nearly over.

Which route is the scenic way to brighton?

I'm not sure about the scenic route. I always just join in as the run passes down the A23 through Crawley, then I follow everyone else down the dual carriageway to Brighton. I wouldn't really want to take a different route, as for me part of the fun is being in a massive convoy of minis and seeing the confused/bewildered looks on other motorists faces that are surrounded by them all.

This is good to know, thank you, I was thinking of turning up at 6:30/7 as not staying at CP but looks like it might have to be earlier!
