I was also able to use a proper burette to measure the combustion chambers on the 295 head. They measured up at 27cc, which means I'll be able to get a decent compression ratio with the flat top pistons.
I had a bit of time between jobs on night shift last week, so I brought in a dash pot and some metal polish...
And I got a cheap ram tube on eBay for under $10 for the HS4. It could do with a clean up before it might get used

My favourite of the bunch being this one.
I've had my reverse cooper steels on for a year now and although I love how they look, I've had too many leaky/flat tyres, so I'm seriously considering getting this set...
They are Australian made ROH Contessa wheels. They are 5x10, very light and fit under standard arches...
My twin HS2 carbs and manifold, and my HS4 are away getting bead blasted too to clean them up. I'm looking forward to seeing them all shiny when they get back!

When it turned up it was just oily and dusty and after wiping half the housing clean it started to look pretty good! The paint has got a decent shine to it and it only has one small dent.
I'll just put on a Coopers sticker and it'll be ready to fit. I've also got to sort out the wing nuts and the alternate air horn/elbow to fit the carbs to the filter box
It's the same style filter that would have originally come on the twin carbs I'm going to fit. I'm looking forward to getting the carbs all built up, they're going to look great!

Cheers, I'm really happy to have got one, especially at such a good price! What a nice result with the air box!
I had a little time one afternoon last week, and I've finally installed the windscreen washer bottle and pump. I have no idea how long it's been since it's had working washers...
And installed
It even works too! (And is a good workout for your thumb)
Although maybe a little bit too well, as it was also going onto the roof!
I saw these decals on eBay so I ordered a set. Some people I take for a drive can't work out how to unbuckle the belts, hopefully they can work it out now..

Thanks!
I've finally ordered my minispares stage one kit this week... (It's been sitting in my shopping cart for about 6 months as I've been adding bits and pieces to my order). I'm looking forward to it turning up and getting it on the car. It'll be nice to have a little bit more power and noise in the meantime until I get the 1098 engine built up
This is going to be my first loud exhaust for any of my cars, so I'm also looking forward to being anti-social and making a racket driving around everywhere!

Haha great! I think when it's a mini it's not anti-social
Is your current exhaust setup fairly quiet? :)

I'll get it done as soon as I can.. It might not be till after Christmas when I have some time off unfortunately.Hurry up and get it fitted then
Yes it is, it's the minispares 998 stage one kit - Maniflow Freeflow exhaust manifold, RC40 twin box exhaust, Minispares Torquemaster alloy inlet manifold, KN air filter, needle and gaskets etc.Looks great! Is that the freeflow manifold? :)
I also ordered some manifold studs, nuts and washers as more than likely my old ones will be too short or the threads will strip when I try to tighten them up!
