Here's some I prepared earlier... They've been bead blasted and had a full rebuild. I'm going to make one set from the two.

I managed to use up half a tank of fuel today.. Didn't get anything productive done, but it was fun!

The car is looking very nice mate!!! The wheels look HOT!!!

You get allot of happiness from half a tank of gas and the twin carbies will be a great addition....... Looks like a great drive.. Great job....

Cheers

Agreed, a mini on some lovely empty roads with some beautiful scenery is the best way to spend a day :)

Thanks! I can't wait to see it all together

Yeah, don't want the petrol getting stale and the battery getting flat  :D

Yep, one of my favourite things to do!

I went and bought some parts yesterday.. Finally picked up a Hi-Lo kit after owning the car for over 2 years!

19319425416_2f7a598938_b.jpg

And also some bailey channel to redo the sliding window tracks. I got a new throttle cable as mine is a bit tight as the HS4 is on the opposite side to the old HS2

19157903778_817b1af99e_b.jpg

I also picked up a few freebies from gumtree, a set of 5 Firsat Rostyle Clubman wheels

18724875723_0eccceac4b_b.jpg

And some seats and dash covers. I don't have a plan for any of this clubby stuff at the moment, maybe it means I should buy one to put all these parts in

I'm planning on making a summary of where the car/engine build is up to, it's a bit confusing looking at the last couple of pages here what I'm up to!

The old accelerator cable was a bit stretched as the throttle is on the opposite side on the new HS4 carb to the old HS2 carb.

The throttle has been a bit sticky recently, I'd changed the dashpot oil but that didn't solve it. The end of the outer tube was quite bent, and the inner cable was all frayed and covered in solidified old grease.

With the new longer cable in it has a much gentler curve and the throttle is now nice and smooth

The spare 850 grille I have is now black instead of white, just for a change :-)

I had been looking out for a wooden steering wheel and found one at a good price
20090031982_4d67c3506f_b.jpg
It is a Mountney Classic in 15" and I got a matching boss kit.

The MG logo was the best of the two options in the box, but I'll get a mini one to replace it

The new wheel feels very nice to use, looks great and isn't disintergrating and leaving black marks on my hands like the old wheel. I'd call that a success! I had the rest of day off and it was nice and sunny so I had a nice drive!

Your mini is one of my favourites on TMF. The new wheel is a lovely addition.

Special one for you guys from the UK. I was driving along a bumpy road yesterday and I could see something moving out from the sun visor... It is perfectly harmless, but they can be a bit of a surprise when you don't know they're there...

I would of jumped out the car while still rolling! I hate them hate them!

Nope.
