Lap Belts / Seat Belt Laws ?

Hello . Was in the pub over night and could not work out / arguing with a few old gits / mates . Lol . If u have a 1960 mini . Dose it need seat belts in the front . I have a 1960s estate that had lap belts in . But dose it need to have them for an MOT . Plus if I was not where anything and got pulled what would happoned ?

The front seatbelts came in 1965, and in '68 had to be three point one's. the rear ones come in around 1986.

 

I don't know why you wouldn't want seatbelts?

You don't have to have them if they weren't required from new - and you have a death wish. Catflaps are more secure than Mk1/2 Mini door latches  >_<

I used to have a 1962 Austin A60 which never had any seat belts. The amount of times I got pulled over by the Police was unreal. Some of the young coppers were a bit mythed but the older ones usually just wanted to chat about the car
