time for another update!

 

so, started of by checking the interior painting had dried

 

 

which it had loll

 

so i went to mini spares and i got brake, clutch and petrol lines, a 3 way line splitter for them and a pair of new looms for the front lights with side lights.

 

came back and took the engine out 

 

 

and then took some pictures of the steering rack that i tried to shave

 

 

and you can see where i shaved the gearbox and where the steering rack has been hitting as well

 

 

 

so started like this basically today,

 

 

this is what the wiring looked like at the front (years and years of been re wired lol)

 

 

 

 

and finished up looking like this on both sides, 

 

 

 

and...

 

low beam

 

 

hight beam 

 

 

then went round taking some pictures of what is what on the back of the engine.

 

where has this got to go??

 

 

petrol in or out?

 

 

do i need this?

 

 

if so, where does it go? and attach to?

 

then i took the old oil filter of and put a new on

 

 

and then began with the clutch lines

 

 

 

which I'm pretty happy with, there was a few hiccups, which was annoying as i had to start all over again it involved a hammer lololol the only thing thats bugging me is, where the original lines from the brakes at the front, the lines bolt onto the subframe, which i don't have the holes for anymore so i will be making some i think, so if anyones got a picture, what and where they originally look like, that would be ace! :)

 

then i started on the petrol lines, which went better, as there is an in and out on opposite sides, i routed them like wise, going across the rear cross member of the subframe under the car to meet up and route down the same route as you can see here.

 

 

 

and the two pipes coming up into the boot...

 

 

 

gave the underneath a quick fresh paint

 

 

after finishing all that...

 

 

I went onto wiring again lol

 

what i don't need of the mini loom

 

 

and the rest which isn't finished yet.

 

 

the rocker switch panel, i will be using these three

 

 

 

reason being is, as a 72, there not a legal requirement. so I'm having the indicators on there as a rocker and the 2 speed wiper switch on there two, which i think will look smart :)

 

more updates to come, but at the moment its just wiring, as everything else is done.

 

the order from here is.

 

wiring, plumbing, front removable end (finished wiring just needs to be completely finished to be removable) start, dash, driveshafts, and then cv joints etc and then PAINT and then MOT :)

i did actually take the steering rack plate of and make my own out of 2mm steel which went on well so hopefully should clear it, if not I'm quitting lol i have no picture though lol

riiiiighttt UPDATE

 

i have SUPER BUSY lol

 

since last being on here, the minis moved house with help of my dads mate as he owns a trailer which was awesome! the engines in for the last time (steering rack kind of resting with the gearbox but probably get sorted out with some crow bar action lol

the manifold is on as well with gasket

 

 

 all pipes are on and engine loom 5 plugs ready to be plugged in too the engine loom as well.

to start of the awesome 2 weeker I've had, this was a steal at 42 quid of the bay. Soooo happy with it, very similar colour to my rear seats and colour in the roof lining as well. BONUS!

 

 

came with a subframe, but i want to change that lol

I realise in the pictures above some maybe wrong.

 

annoyingly when i was putting the oil switch on I broke the wire of lol so I had to make a new and put on and Also extended the wiring for the alternator to the front, still yet to extend the thick white one lol

 

so ended up like this at the back, i think its right anyway lol but I've plumbed everything in so the pipes are really long from the back so i can readily change where they go (((((thinking ahead for once lololol)))))

 

 

 

and just to show you I have really really tried to get some clearance lol as you can see 

 

 

sooooooa annoying! grrr going to have space it or something.

but its juste annoying though as i can't attach the gear selector to the engine end until its fix in position properly....

and then onto the trailer :)

 

 

which sucked in a way because its started to rain heavy on the way :'( as the front end was in the boot LOL

 

lots of people taking photos on the way lol

 

When he got to his new home, the trailer didn't fit up the drive, so we had to push it up quite a steep bit of road, which knackered us all out! lol

and then sleepy-by

 

 

will be back soon for an update, starting it in around a week and a half, which will be amazing to say the least lol

 

not far from choosing colours for the car! lol

A few updates on Facebook just a few pictures radiator is in so I assumed its all plumbed in now not much else
