Not even the standard tank?  Theres the bolt hole on the back of the seat behind where the tank sits.  Then I had to drill a hole and bolt the other end through the floor

So regarding the fuel tanks, what happens with the honda fuel pump? i heard that you needed an MPI tank? I'm trying to wrap my head around how the float in the tank could work with the honda dials, as this build is very close to how im imagining attacking stuff! (keeping the honda clocks, moving the tank filler neck etc)

yea mpi tank dude, this is one of them, just waiting on the pump through the post :)

im not too sure how that work either dude lol but im assuming that the wires on the tank just connect to where the honda wires would :P i think anyway lol

well guys, just a small update.

Having the petrol tank finished, i decided to test fit it and see where the filler neck sat.

got the petrol tank out no problem as i do not have a tank strap LOL and i never had one LOL
there was even a fresh nut and bolt for the top mount of the strap. which is so weird because as ive said ive never had one over 3 years or whatever

anyway, the old one is now sale so PM if you are in need of one :) perfect working order and no rust at all :)

here it is test fitted, as you can see, its about 3 inches away from the boot which couldnt be better :D

IMAG0356.jpgIMAG0357.jpgIMAG0358.jpgIMAG0359.jpg

excuse the messy boot, i will be painting it all black and the inlet needs to be stripped onto the skunk then ebay it goes lol small box of stuff to clean:
IMAG0360.jpg
as well as painting the spacer plate for the passenger side underneath the subframe and im going to paint the brakes as well  just for good messure lol oo and something else which ive fogotten lol

so i put the engine and subframe back in today, a little thing that i kind of what some one to show me what theres look like lol only because i want to make sure that i don have any problems lining up the drive shafts when it comes to it

this is where i think it needs to sit, this is the right one from the front as you can see there is no bolt in it. basically the hole of the rubber mount sits about the mount holes on the subframe. so really dont know what to do about it. because even if i stretch the rubber into place to line up with the holes the metal part of the engine mount will just sit on the frame and ide obviously just get vibrations from it all throughout the car. :/

IMAG0382.jpg

and this is the left one, the socket was to just space it out to where i thought it should be when i was test fitting the manifold for the bulkhead.

so i test fit the manifold with the engine is situ and i pretty happy with it ide say :)
I've gotta take about about another inch out of the passenger side of the manifold or so to get it to fit well the other side is perfect :) ignore the random paint on the wiper motor as it will be actually painted soon enough lol

so heres how it fits

IMAG0395.jpg

IMAG0396.jpg

so pretty good ide say for a test fit :)

IMAG0383.jpg

the actual paint has made a huge reflection of how im now looking at this project i think :)
as im no longer working on a horrible dirty engine bay lol ive left all the bits that are going to welded or the like bare

so i think it looks pretty good now :D

IMAG0384.jpg
IMAG0390.jpg
IMAG0392.jpg
IMAG0394.jpg

so quite happy with that.

next is to fit steering rack and petrol pump and the actual tank in the car for good (when i get the rack mounts and honda petrol pump that Kieran has sent me)

which then is getting a box fabricated and welded in and then is just down to fitting the subframe and engine for good  hopefully then we can get some good progress on this thing :)

a slight update, i think im going to change the 2 mini stalks to just the 1 honda lights and indicator stalk. Im going to put the ignition barrel in the dashboard unless for a legal reason i cannot. :)

ive started tangling through the wiring, this is box of looms :D oh how mighty how it is :D

IMAG0440.jpg

this is the stalks of the honda which i think i have the plugs for, i think :P

IMAG0441.jpg

as you can see i just need to simply unscrew the stalk i don't want :)

for the other switches i have these to sort through to see if there any use :)

a weird part of the wiring i got was this IMAG0437.jpg
still no idea what it does? a guess would be its for to normally bypass a couple of things like abs or whatever for certain purposes? i dunno!

Also, is this fubarb?

IMAG0436.jpg

as i have a new steering rack and would like it too work :P

Won't you need the ignition barrel for the steering lock for an MOT? Coming on nicely, looks good!

If it had one as standard, I think it's got to keep one :/

Why are you using the honda stalks? Surely using the mini electrics for the lights and stuff would be simpler, the only thing i can think of what may be a problem with that though is linking the mini stalks up to the honda dials (for indicators, hazards and full beam...) hmm...
