I have Sheldon, first named Shunt as it was built using a car that was involved in an accident as a donor, later became known as Shell done, shortened to Sheldon and later became a link to Big Bang Theory.

Penny the ex redbull mini named after the Big Bang Theory's character

Recently we got a Mini Cooper D and she has been named Mary Cooper  (Sheldon's mother)

We also have an Estate named Primrose as thats the colour we plan for it, although I am worndering if I should change the name to Bernadette, It might be pushing the it's getting sad now boundry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

Speedy as she's Speedwell blue and being a standard 850, is slow.
Trevor came with his name but his reg is TFR which is where his previous owner got it from.
Paddy came with his name too, named after Paddy Hopkirk.
Pooh as he's a Russet brown Clubman estate.
Marty as his reg is MJF, so after the character that Michael J Fox played in Back to the Future.
Betty as she a Jet Black and after Black Betty.
Henry as he's H reg and a Cooper
Tommy after Tommy Cooper but he's also H reg but we'd already used Henry.
Jared named by my son apparently after someone in Muse and he's J reg and red.
Mr Bump came with his name. The previous owner's nieces named him as he's sort of Mr Bump colours and they found sitting in the back very bumpy.

I call mine Harriet for 2 different reasons. First, because it's goning to be a chariot one day! And second,  I always wanted to call one of our daughters Harriet but my wife wouldn't let me!

My Mini doesn't get a name. My Mini is a car, not a living thing.

I don't name my car in the same way I don't name my laptop, or my bed. :-)

My first Mini (a blue 1977 1000) was called Huey. Why? Well... (takes deep breath), I was a fan of the 2000AD comics at the time and there had been a storyline called Full Mental Jackets in it. The main character was called Dog Deever. I thought my Mini was "a bit of a dog" when I got him, so i called him Huey, after Deever's best mate in the story.

My 1275GT was called Bruce (mainly because the name given to him by his previous owner was "Doris" and he was way more masculine than that!)

My 25 was called Carrie because I couldn't think of anything else at the time and I had once fancied a girl called Carolyn.

And my 85 Mayfair was called Mel.

PS also had an old 1970 Mini with no floor back in 1994 called Basket Case for obvious reasons and also a russet brown 1000 I called Ian Turd.

What's wrong with you!    While I don't name other objects in the house, I do talk to them.

I have a couple of Maestros and a Montego and last night I finally got round to entering all their details on the Maestro & Montego Owners Club website.  They were the usual questions, VIN, engine number, colour, spec etc, but I was so pleased to see at the bottom a place for their name!  it made all the bother of typing the numbers in worthwhile!

I'm sure that AVV IT come along at some point and join you in the 'my Minis don't have names, I don't name inanimate objects' side of the discussion.  However, to me, my Minis (and my other classics) will always be far more than an inanimate objects and more than deserving of being named! :D

"Sox" - Last letters of the plate, it chose itself.

Otherwise it would of been Alice Cooper   :shades:

Betty Blue. Because she's as wild as she is beautiful, for those who have seen the film.

That, and she's blue.
