Right, Yes Update time
Ruby Two is on the floor
Boot install done
Rear Carpet
Front & Rear Glass fitted
Cover to fit under gear leaver gaiter
I didn't like the foam plastic thing.
It was painted red before fitting
Front Carpet, Heater, Pedal box, Steering wheel, Gear leaver.
Rear seats
Bracket for the Heater Pipe
Then spent 5 hours fettling the boot lock
Only those that know a Mini boot lock will understand what's been done
Just needs some primer and paint now
I have a few bits that are needing paint at the mo.
This weeks job is to get them all ready for the next dry day when I can get Ruby out the garage so I can paint.

First fit of the inlet manifold & carb resulted in the carb hitting the bulkhead
After a quick phone call to Maniflow, I was told this is because a 1275 engine is 10mm taller than the 998 one.
Jack and me measured the current angle of carb intake to be 10 degrees
After a bit of spacing we worked out that if it were changed to 15 degrees then it would clear the bulkhead.
Jack did a drawing to explain this and it was sent back to the nice chaps at Maniflow.
Made a small stainless bracket for accelerator cable
Fitted the air intake
made another bracket to hold the oil breather pipe, to stop it touching the rocker cover
Engine bay starting to look OK now
Jack wants a bracket to hold his phone in place
He wants it to be removable for when not in use. so a wing nut to hold it in place and a bit of rubber and magnets to hold the phone.
All done
It was time to see if she would start up, first time in 20 months.
Crikey was the accident that long ago
Removed the plugs
Disconnected power from the coil
Turned over until I could see fuel in the filter
The again until it stopped flowing, this should mean that the carb float bowl was full
Plugs back in, Connections put back on.
3rd turn of the key and she is alive, timing was a little out.
Next step is to get the doors built up
Ruby is booked in at Mini Sport soon to get the geometry set up & MOT
Thanks for looking.

What grommets/conduit are you using for the central locking wires to the door?

The grommets are for an 11mm hole and the place where I have drilled the hole is half double skinned
I cant find the exact dimensions of the grommets I used, The measurement that is critical is the thickness of the metal that you have to drill through.
The conduit is 7mm O/D nylon air pipe
The wire is 1mm single core and there are black and red
The grommet in the door has the air pipe glued to it so it don't pull out,
The grommet in the A Panel is make a little larger than the air pipe and silicone grease is used to allow it to slide in and out when the door is used.
The air pipe also passes through the inside of the A panel and out the other side behind the dashboard
If you need any more info, message me and I will give you my number to talk you through it in more detail.
I also made the central locking kit myself. All I brought was the motors.
