hi all new to this but been wanting to build a mini for years jst ant had the time, (kids, house ect ect ) but the brain has been ticking away ,dnt reali want to go dwn the buy a kit route its not my thing,id rather get dwn an dirty with the tools and experiment, i come from a engineering background so have the skills needed to build ,work in a iron/alloy foundry so casting parts is not a problem if needed ie adapter plates ,mountings ect
i first thort of useing the front rear and back bone subframe of the mx5 as wheels diff brakes lump ect all come 2gether as a sort of chassis if u like but seems alot to mod, then came across a reliant with swift gti lump sj413 box and mx5 diff and hubs but am thinking reliant axle as around same track length as mini ,and sj413 box shouldnt make as big a hole in the bulk head any thorts or advice would be grate , my main issue is working owt how the combination would perform ie top speed ,0 to 60 ect not so good with ratios
sorrys if spelling is abit off it ant my strong point as i said im a tools man lol
thanks
