My Mini was originally fitted with a pre-engaged starter motor. I have done an engine conversion recently which has the older style inertia type start on it. I have fitted the Minispares (intermotor) 3 pin solenoid fixed to the subframe just beside the starter. Problem is that my headlights nor hazards work any more, looking at the wiring diagram they both take their main 12v supply from the solenoid. So the question is, which is the correct way to wire the solenoid? Currently i have wired it so that all the connections are on one terminal with the solenoid earthing through the body and onto the subframe. Yes i have scratched the paint away from the subframe to help earthing. This leaves me with 2 unused spade terminals. One is standard size spade the other is a much larger spade.
Could anyone provide me with a diagram of how best to wire one in? Thanks in advance.

Hi thanks, i will try your method and see what happens. That diagram only shows a brown wire attached to the solenoid though?
