Standard Engine BPR6ES or Champion RN9Ys will be ok, some say the NGKs are better I've used both without issues

As Dave says both of those should be ok but bear in mind that although they are the same in theory, in practice cars can prefer one or other due to small differences in the plugs. My Mini likes NGK better than Champion but my daily drive MGB GT will ONLY run on champion plugs. If I put NGK in it fouls them within a week and won't run. The point being, find ones that work for you and stick with them.

Elaborate a bit on how the engine is not "running right" and tell us what the plugs look like when you remove and inspect them.

The plugs are light brown, with an AAU needle in it, It Boggs down and miss fires as soon as you hit the accelerator or when the cam starts to kick in. And This happens once the engine starts to warm up. I've fiddled quite a bit with the carb to try and sort it but it hasn't made any difference, also changed the coil. There's an electronic ignition on it could that possibly cause the problem?

The plugs mentioned should be fine. The problem you most likley have is the needle choice. Get it on a rolling road and get the fueling dialled in. The AAU will likely be way off for this spec.

Thanks, I tried the AAA needle in it and the lowest CO reading we could get was 7% with the adjusting nutt screwed all the way to the top?
