Well, here's mini number 4 which I have owned a month or two as a replacement too my mk2 fiesta (which I am going to miss )
It came with a 1275 MG Metro engine which is very very nippy and seems to be in excellent condition bar the clutch.
I removed the 1275 in order to fit my 998 I stripped, inspected, gearbox work, head clutch etc etc. This engine has been in for most of this time and has a few niggles. The crank oil seal on the clutch side has decided to leak (this was new) it need a rolling road tune up and a needle re profile. This was booked in this week, but the mini decided to overheat. This is believed to be a heater matrix issue which has caused pressure resulting in a water pump gasket failure. This is now weeping coolant slightly. So to save the hassle doing this, the clutch oil seal and tune up, the 1275 is having the clutch replaced this week and hopefully have the engine swapped over this weekend!
I have also replaced alot of the cosmetics in this time. It is slightly rough, has oversills etc but on the whole its not toooo bad. All taxed and tested. Loving being back in a mini. The aim is to use this till I can complete my white 1989 Mayfair. Then do the bodywork on this and this will be the all weather mini and my white mini will be the summer time mini, just to keep it out of the salt.
