Due to me possibly moving away i may need to sell the Mini at some point in the near future for a modern car ( Really dont want to )

If you could all give me a rough idea on what you think its worth that would be great.

 

Rover Mini 30 998 1989

Now im not going to go into massive detail on all the things that have been done and whats on the car as it has been fully restored right from a bare shell. So 90% of the parts are brand new.

 

12 Months MOT

6 Months Tax

 

Exterior -

Had full respray from bare metal ( photos to prove )

Sun roof

De bumpered

Group 2 arches 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Interior -

Custom Consoles Dash and Centre Console 

Brand new red carpet

New rear seats 

Suede Dash rails

FIA approved bucket type seats

 

 

 

 

 

 

Suspension and breaking -

Every single component is new ( Even the break lines )

GAZ shocks

Ultralight Alloys 

Good Falken tyres

 

 

 

Engine - 

Standard 998 engine with stage 1 kit

Refurbished cylinder head

All new ancillaries 

Very tidy engine bay for a Mini

 

 

No rust at all ( I know every Mini add says this but there really isnt ) as all the usual panels have been replaced.

I have left out absolutely masses of information ( I have over 1000 photos of the complete rebuild )

 

So just a rough idea what you think someone would pay for it.

Very nice car shame its not standard though being a 30. I would say its worth £3.5k? Just a guess.....

When I bought it I wasn't specificity looking for a 30 and always wanted to do it my way hence why I didn't keep it original.
Anyone else got any other ideas ?

dont sell it andrew! all that hard work you have done and it looks smashing. might aswell keep it and enjoy it its only going to value if you keep it in top condition. i would also say its worth 3 to 4k easy! are you going to the stanford mini show the weekend?? thanks tom

I would be more conservative. Its not a 30 anymore unless all the special bits are in storage. That makes it a modded mini. Prices at the moment seem to be £2000-£2500 unless its something special. It may be the pic but the bonnet doesn't look the best respray job. Interior isn't immaculate so I think closer to £2000. Sorry to pick holes a bit but its what a buyer would do so just trying to be realistic. I agree with the above, keep it if you can.

It's difficult to put a value on something like this, because it's clearly been modified to suit your taste and therefore it's appeal is always going to be limited to buyers with a similar taste to yours. Modified cars are often tricky to sell too, because a big part of the fun of modified cars, is actually doing the modifying itself (as you have done), so the market for already modified cars is in itself somewhat limited.  

 

For agreed value insurance purposes, I'd probably want to value it at around the £4k mark, but if you were to actually sell, I think you might struggle to get much more than half of that amount. It's easy to say that it's got to be worth £4k, but at the end of the day, despite all the time and money you've clearly invested in it, I'm afraid that it's still basically an 80's 998, and people with that sort of money to spend on a classic mini tend to want something more than a cosmetically modified 80's 998. 

 

If you're considering selling, then I'd probably put it on somewhere like piston heads at around the £3k mark (£2,995 o.n.o to put it the right side of £3k) and then don't be in a rush to sell, because it might take some time to attract the right buyer. This is also the type of car that someone would want to take to the summer shows, so this really would be the wrong time of year to sell it. Ideally wait until spring and the beginning of the show season.

Ive got a 30 and its nice to see another  one around mines all original and people have said that its worth about £3,500 but im guessing youve lost about £1000 because its not original if not a bit  more.
