anyone know of a good way to change this.......as this is my first mini and im kinda new to this small of an engine.... (use to american 350's) but anyway....i know where the pump is and it looks like its in a really tight spot.......do i need to pull the engine to get it out of the way of the firewall.......or can i just squeeze my arms in there and hope i dont get caught on something........

You don't need to remove the motor Its just a question of carefully squeezing your hands into the space.

Or if you have problems finding a pump, why not fit an electric one

You can buy an electric pump from a motorsport type supplier, ie Demon Tweeks or the German version.
The mount it in the boot or under the bonnet, depending on what type of pump it is. Disconnect the old one and connect the 2 pipes together. Wire the pump through the Ignition, so it only works when the ignition is live.

I have just done one on mine, im 6foot 2 with big hands it was ok, firts nut was a doddle but the other one was a bit harder. you will need a deep socket for the second nut on the left and a spanner for the one on the right.
Thing to watch out for is not to drop the socket as i did :saywhat: took an hour to find the bugger, only deep socket i had.
Got my pump from mini spares, next day :cheese:
She runs loverly now

if you have a 1/4" drive socket set, its a lot easier.
