Often it is the spindle which gets most of the wear, have you checked the fit of a new spindle in your existing HS2 bodies?
Replacing the bushes is reckoned to be a tricky job, as the body needs to be drilled out then reamed to size for interference fit with the OD of the bush. This has to be done so that the bushes are in exactly the same location as the original holes for the spindle, and aligned. Not trivial.

Basically in line drilling and reaming. Happy to do this for you £30 the pair inc return postage, you need to post you butterfly's spindles and bushes together with the carb bodies.

AC is right, you can work the carbs to the point it wont even sit on idle but a bigger carb will still outperform it..

Its not the airflow that holds the engine back its the speed of the pistons in the carbs that is the limiting factor in the operation of the SU. The only way around this is larger pistons which means larger carbs.
