Hello Birdman

That is the first time I have heard of that method. I will keep that in my note book  :shades:

I have used carbon transfer paper before and it worked really well. I got the carbon paper from a local stationary store cut sheet into squares the size of the tyre footprint. I then jacked the car up and lowered it onto the carbon paper with a white paper sheet as the backing to transfer the print. Once I removed it the tyre footprint and pressure points were clearly visible.

Best of luck.

what do you think of the GP works rear spoiler? Remember, this is going to be a smaller, lighter, classic version of the 2014 gp works mini. Oh and faster ;)

I particularly like the photo where it appears you are grinding your welding machine (I know your not) and then the next photo where you appear to be welding with a soldering iron........

Re the spoiler, can you change the angle of attack on it? it seems a bit too flat to be useful in an aero package as it is........

haha welding with a soldering iron eh!

yeah the spoiler itself wont be much use practically. It is mainly there to look good if im honest! I think seeing as its only going to be for looks, the angle that it is made to sit at as you see in the photos will look the best.

Been doing lots of fiberglassing on the front end to make it meet the scuttle pannel perfectly.

Tried using dzeus fastners but got fed up with them in the end so used quick release bonnet pins which actually work better in my opinion!

Cut out the rear arches to what they should be.

Fitted the steering wheel/quick release boss

Fitted the front lights.

I need to cut the front arches out, sand down the fiberglass, then i can disassemble the car and finish off some body work before it goes to paint.

jobs a good'n

Not keen on the spoiler. Each to their own. Nice build.

Very nice build, definitely taking shape. I like the spoiler, I make one with a similar design though a little smaller specifically for the classic.

Fantastic photos too, really add a degree of professionalism to your thread. I've got the same sparco seat too, really comfortable to sit in. Looking forward to the next update.

small update! Sorry my photos may have looked the same recently... but we will see a big change soon! :D

So I have fitted the exhaust which looks awesome..

I then had a giant clear out of the garage top to toe and have one fully loaded transit van ready to go to the dump.

Have managed to cut out the grille mesh to shape which is going to look great so happy days on that front..

Fitted the wingmirrors, rear boot, rear valance, doors and quick release pins today so the mini is now ready to go to the body shop to have a professionals touch over my dodgy body work! Should be back in a couple of weeks with its fresh coat of paint and then I can start the final assembly. Super excited!
