From listing: "Midas bronze kit car 1275cc registered correctly in 1979 as a Midas sports, chassis number DO10001 making it one of the very first Midas kit cars.
It is a restoration project that I bought with the intention of restoring over the summer through the winter with the intention of putting it on the road next spring but since buying I have injured my back so I am unable to work on it which is very disappointing for me and my 8 year old son as it was our project.
The car does seem to be complete apart from carpets and door cards, this is a restoration project so some parts will need renewing or refurbishing.
The engine is a 1275cc but I have not tried to start it so I can not verify if its good or not but being mini/metro it really is not difficult to rebuild if needed, I was told when I purchased the car it had a 1275 stage 2 head but again I have not verified this.
The only thing I did do on the car was remove the beam axle I shot blasted, inspected, painted then refitted.
The wheels pictured fitted to the car are not part of the sale as they do not belong to me the ones pictured in the boot are MISTRAL which are early mini lite wheels but the tyres need replacing, the wheels themselves also need a refurbish.
The body does need a respray and does have a few cracks and some crazing in the fibreglass but again this is not a difficult job if you can bend down long enough.
Being a Midas MK1 it is mainly mini based so easy to get spares."
