Right theres nothing in the haynes either just that the track is 4ft 3inches so i guess you could buy some wheels and fit them then check the track to see if there right
I,ve been of no use as of yet but i'l keep looking around

This guy rekons that 6J might be too wide : http://www.metroowne...o offset#p83106
Seems theres no chat of worded Offset figures anywere on MOC, hopefully you can see that link :)
The common thing seems to be roll the arches and space them out to clear

Thankyou for your searching its been great. I think the arches were rolled before i got the car if i've read correctly. Are spacers not a bit dodgy on the wheel bearings?
Pretty sure he means spacing the arches out, given that the wheels already stick out too much.

for my 2 pennies worth, my mk1 metro has got mk1 turbo wheels on it, the offset is marked on the outside of the rim, its 50mm!!!
i had to check this myself as i thought it couldnt be right and i actually measured/calculated it to be 49mm offset (but i did only do it with steel rulers so i guess they were right!)
anyway, as such, there are only a few cars which have this kind of offset (that im aware of anyway), and that is vauxhalls, most small vauxhalls leave the factory with et49 offset, they do however have a 100mm pcd.
i have seen people (bodge) mini alloys on vauxhalls as the pcd is pretty close, but i keep hearing folks talk about "wobble bolts" i have never come accross thyem myself but from what i can gather they could possibly get vauxhall alloys onto an austin metro? dont hold me to that, but its worth checking out.

Hi Rob,
Just been cleaning off another steel metro rim and came across somemore stamped numbers near the valve area on the outer lip, there quite small and lightly stamped but it reads: 4.50BFH12x61,5 1233 FAM3634
Photo's i took arn't perfect due to the focus being abit of a pain

I think the offset is 61.5 mm whatever that means as i waas searching through TMF threads and saw someone posted saying metro's were around 50mm offset but i,ve no idea how to convert that to the offset terms used (i.e 5.5J for example)

indeed, the offset on those is most probably 61.5mm the face that the wheel mounts on is almost beyond the outer rim!
someone the other day asked me why i dont have aftermarket wheels on my metro, i repied with "try finding some that fit!!"
if the centre poked out any further they would look like these....
