Would a 1275 cam be suitable for an 1100 with 60 thou oversize pistons? Cheers

it would fit and might get you a hp or two but for the effort of fitting a cam you would be much better off getting an sw5/mg metro cam/kc256/948 as those cams are still fairly tame but would give a nice boost without  you have to rev your 1098 to bits.

There were several 1275 cams from the initial Cooper 'S' right through to the final MPI.
In fact the 1275 cam in standard form is fairly mild and will give no improvement over a standard 1100 cam, and again the 1100 engine had several cams during its production life.
The bore oversize is not a factor. The main factors in fitting a different cam are the head, which is the key to better performance if gas-flowed with an increased compression ratio, the induction system and the exhaust system.
Once those are improved, a more suitable cam can be fitted, but the correct one for the use of the car must be considered.
