Has the VW Passat now replaced the Hyundai Stellar is the most common choice of taxi?? They're everywhere!! (Probably a load of members won't remember the Saturday nights out that always ended up with a Stellar :D )

Nope wrong car, try Skoda Octavia and Superb. Now these are everywhere. Two just up the road from me.

Same round here, there are LOADS of them

Apparently horses can produce up to 14.9 horse power in short bursts. A trained athlete can produce 2.5hp.

EVERYTHING I KNOW IS A LIE.

Over here we have a real mixed bag of taxis.

A few firms run Skoda's but most are completely independent and run Vivaro minibusses, BMW's Merc's, those Peugeot people carrier things and there is one old bou that runs a 1987 Audi 100!

I used a taxi to go across town to a party a few years back and i was chatting to the driver and we got talking about the car. He told me the car had done 475000 miles and was on its third engine!

Most of the skoda taxis in Sittingbourne have been re-trimmed in red vinyl, i suppose to make it easier to clean the sick off the seats  O_O

How random does a thought have to be to allowed on here? Something could be utterly strange to write on a mini forum, however it could be normal for the days activities, like mine, for today, why is that bloke allowed to be working without a t shirt, hi viz or hard hat, normal question on a building site, but is a random thing to question on here

As random as you like. I think a serious question with a funny answer is acceptable too.

I wondered earlier how different Stoke on Trent would sound if the words "love" and "duck" didn't exist?

Anybody else got a message from ebay about being automatically being enrolled into the global shipping system thing? I don't want to ship to anywhere outside of mainland UK due to the hassle and hence why I have had my ebay account to block people who don't have a uk mainland address for some time now.

Thanks for nothing ebay. All you have done is created me work now to have to reset all my adverts again back to "domestic postage only" and set the preferences on my account to opt out of your new system.

Why do we say something is "extraordinary" when it's amazing, but really that should mean it's just extra ordinary?

In 35+ years of riding bikes I don't think I have whacked my nads more than once, if ever. What are you doing wrong?

I knew a lad that went down a ramp on his bike, feet slipped off the pedals and ended up popping a bollock on the middle bar. Blood was everywhere!!!!

Why do people buy the Corsa VXR?

A mate of mine has one and he complains all the time about how much he is paying for the insurance on it and how insurance companies are robbing him and that the police pick on him because of the car.

He pays more for the insurance and tax on it than I do on my Vectra, his fuel economy is worse than my Vectra, the ride is harsher and the car is much nosier inside than my vectra and the only thing he gets in return for all of this is a 0-60 time that is about a second quicker and a theoretical top speed of 3mph more than my Vectra. I have the advantages of 5 doors and a huge boot as well.

I'm a big fan of Vauxhalls and hot hatches but I can't help feel that for the same money he bought the corsa for and what it costs him to run, he could have had a much better car considering his 6 month old corsa on paper is about equivalent to my 8 year old diesel vectra that cost me a fraction of the price.

I suppose really my question should have been why does my mate whinge about his Corsa VXR when he is the one that chose to buy it?
