My parents still use a system of telephone signals to know when to put dinner on for the other one. I always wonder how come they decided on seven rings to mean they are setting off and then 3 rings for when they were 15 minutes away?

Before anyone says, they never use their phone while driving. They used to do this before the days of mobile phones so used to stop at telephone boxes.

With the invention of 1471 it got better as we could confirm if it was the correct person ringing.

was it to swap the horn (air horn to normal horn) - some had town / country horns ? - just a guess

That's the same set up I've got on the mini, purely for mot reasons :whistling:

Talking of witch can you get on/on toggle switches? as I kind of don't like the on/off/on switch I have fitted, but it was the nearest I could find at short notice.

Had one of those moments today when I thought someone had keyed my car ... but it was just a long line of spider silk. My little wing mirror friend is messing with my mind!

Why when having new carpets fitted do we request to keep the large offcuts even though we will never have any use for them or ever likely to use them?

I have two massive offcuts here which i will never EVER use but as it was bought and paid for, i couldn't just let them take it away and dump it.

I can assure you they don't. I've been in the car with them many times when their phone has rang and they just ignore it or pull over and answer it. My dad refuses to link his mobile to his hyundai as he doesn't want the distraction of it and my mum was involved in an accident a few years ago because of some idiot on their phone so she hates drivers who use their phone.

You can't put money in a phone box anymore. You have to use a telephone card for one. Where do you buy the card from? If you ever break down in the side of the motorway you are better using the orange phones that sit on the side of the road instead of your mobile. They can pinpoint the location of those phones so know where to look for you.

Just been out and whilst driving along, we passed a convoy of exotic sports cars, There were Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, Porsches  etc and as each car went past, my girlfriend was saying 'wow' and 'look at that one' and all that.

And then bringing up the rear was a LAMM cabriolet. To that i said WOW. she looked at me questioningly and called me sad.

Not my fault that a Mini appeals to me more than some investment bankers weekend toy.

Do crabs think we walk sideways?

If a crab is fed alcohol, would it walk forwards, as posed to sideways?
