Why do they supply poverty spec new laptops with Windows 8 premium when they can't really handle it resulting in a computer that is slower than the old one it replaced?
Just set up my brother-in-law's one and was not impressed at how slow everything is

Because windows 8 is useless

I'm the same!

Hate it when you go to bed because you KNOW you need to sleep because of something coming up that requires an early start or involves a very long day but you end up just laying there wide awake.

I often drive from home on the isle of wight to kent and because i travel in the early hours because the ferry is cheaper then, i often try to get my head down before leaving so i'm fresh for the drive but it never works out.

Luckily though, i am always wide awake and alert on the road even if i haven't slept much

I really should go to bed but I picked up some retro Canon mushroom speakers at a boot sale today and they are quality! Playing Guns n' Roses way too loud and just keep having to listen to one .. more ... track ...!

Absolutely no idea. Wanted some back in the 90s but couldn't afford them then. Had forgotten all about them until I saw this pair on the table. Just had to have them :D

I need some more speakers for my jukebox to replace my floor standing ones.

Any recommendations?

I've got a couple of Wharfedale Diamond 9.0s. Pretty cheap and cheerful and they sound great (even better now with the Canons). Richer Sounds will be able to help you out if you've got one near you?

How can my mini pass it's mot with no advisories (well I did have some like my 'chavy' sidelight bulbs) only for it to now have an annoying metallic rattle it never had before being tested.

Its not just minis. My Vectra passed first attempt with no advisories and then 8 days later a major brake pipe failed and I barely stopped at a junction. I didn't spot it when I checked the car over as it was the one above the diesel tank. My MOT tester didn't see it either.

MOT's are not worth the paper they are written on for those of us who do maintain our cars. They are only really any good for those who don't as it does stop them from driving them with dangerous faults.

People on diet/fitness fads are so boring. Always banging on and on about it. My friend has got herself a personal trainer and just about every sentence now starts with "my fitness guy says ....". Mind numbing.
