What is the point of those plastic covers you get on a plug when you first buy a new appliance?

The first thing anyone does is pull it off and either chuck it back in the box or in the bin. They don't even offer any protection. A plug still f***ing hurts when you stand on it even if it has that plastic cover on it.

I think it's so it don't rattle against the appliance when in transit & scratch it

lego bricks are the worst for standing on

Lego bricks hurt but I think plugs hurt more. Plugs stick out more than lego bricks.

There is that age old question of which hurts more. Giving birth to a child or getting kicked in the nuts. While most people will probably agree that child birth is worse a mate of mind did point out that no guy has ever thought, "you know what, I fancy another kick in the nuts", yet some women do have more than one child. You have to admit. He has a point.

Why is the first aisle in every supermarket the fruit and veg one?

Everything else can be any order they like but not the first one. Its always fruit and veg.

It's all cunning marketing. Show you all the nice fresh stuff that looks all lovely and healthy to entice you in. They all do it except the Co-ops. There's a stack of bog roll and Nescafe in the entrance of mine.

I have just been to quite a few Tesco's that don't have fruit and veg as you go in but you are right, they all generally do!

And the staples (bread, milk etc) are always at the furthest end of the supermarket as well. Means you have to walk through the whole supermarket to get to them.

Not where I've been. The Milk is often only a few isles in, towards the back. Brad about 2/3's along... This that annoys me is the heavy stuff, ie the beer cases, drinks bottles are furthest away, so by the time your trolly/basket is full, you get to the drinks and then heaviest stuff and you have to go all rearranging to get it all in without turning your loaf of bread into one huge panini.

Why don't we get them in the UK but they are everywhere else (at least everywhere I have been in Europe)?

Glass is easier to recycle than cans (its just made into road chippings or clear glass into brown glass) so you would think that glass bottles would be better than making things in cans.

Glass bottle coca cola is so much dearer though!

Asda had limited edition brasil ones. 4 Pack of quite slim small bottles for almost a fiver!

No thanks, i'd rather buy a couple of 2litre bottles!

Why are fizzy drinks so much more expensive now?

I remember when you could get a 2 litre bottle of Lilt for under a quid pretty much anywhere, now its £2.50 a bottle!

mmmmmmm Lilt,

Not much of a fizzy drink fan to be honest
Dont mind the occasional bottle of vanilla coke

But anyway random thought of the day...
The concept of money is stupid , the idea of the more" paper" notes you have the better off you are . Hmm
When you properly think about it , it is stupid

I was sitting at the dining room table yesterday evening chatting with my girlfriend and i was playing with a ten pound note and really studying it.

I too was thinking, what's the point in cash money. |do away with the bits of paper and metal discs and move on. Most places take cards and most people have a paypal account.

I guess it is the elderly that are holding things back.

I'd rather have a load of notes than the equivalent in the bank, it's easier to keep track of what you have, and what you're spending, and once it's gone, and you can't afford to buy something, you don't have if
