I'm not a sucker for soaps and infact only ever watch it when staying with my Mum.

I have been staying with her for weeks and weeks now so have been watching it quite a bit.

If i'm honest, i don't mind it. That doesn't mean i would start taping it when i'm out or worrying if i miss it.

Give it a try, although it's rubbish, its fun to laugh at the characters and the ridiculous story lines.

I mean how can a group of so few people have so much bad luck between them?

You never have an episode where nobody does anything and just have a night in watching tv and not really communicating with each other!

I think a question a lot of us are asking is why are you watching soaps? They are utter rubbish (like most TV) so why waste your life with them.

But why not? It's a personal choice. I don't watch any of them religiously, only if I happen to not be doing anything else. I'm not wasting my life on them. I guess some of the stuff other people watch/do I would consider utter rubbish, like sitting in front of a tv screen for hours pretending to be in the SAS, or a violent US car thief. Or spending huge amounts of time on Facebook constantly updating friends with my every movement. To me, that's a total waste of time but those who do it will jump up and down defending it and that's fine. Just because I don't like it, I wouldn't condemn it as the opinion of the majority. There you go. Everyone's different.

You edited my post to remove the bit " there are minis out there that need work doing to them" which was more the joke I was trying to imply (and yes I realise that not everyone wants to work on minis or their mini needs working doing to it).

I wasn't having a go at anyone. If you want to watch them fine. Obviously enough people do like them as they are still being made. The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing.

Why can't people read ebay adverts? I have had a few people in the last couple of weeks wanting to know where their stuff is and getting annoyed as parts will not arrive before their MOT retest.

A. I send all my stuff by courier these days as its cheaper than the royal mail so I can find out where it is. Often it is out for delivery and is always within the time period that the courier I use says. I therefore cannot send it any faster and is out of my hands.

B. There is at least a day between when you pay for the item and I send it. My adverts state I dispatch in 3 days which 99.9% I manage to do. If I can't I always message the buyer or it is already on the advert.

C. Its not my fault that your car misses its retest. At worse it takes 8 days to get an item from me. 3 day dispatch, 5 day courier but often it is faster than this. You have 10 days in which to do your MOT retest so you should be fine. My items are listed as buy it now. I will not be paying for your MOT because a part didn't not arrive when you wanted it to as one ebayer tried to claim against me (ebay ruled in my favour on this claim in case anyone wonders).

D. Yes there probably are faster services out there than the courier I use. Very few are cheaper though and do not have drop off places local to me.

Looked into financing a VW Transporter Shuttle today. 18 months old. VW dealer want a down payment of £5,000, 48 monthly payments of £430.00 and THEN a massive balloon payment of over £8k at the end (or you just give it back or get them to sell it). Nearly £35k for For a £28K vehicle....Is this normal vehicle "financing" these days?

I know. But it seems so common to have these deposits, monthly payments and then a huge lump to pay at the end. In a lot of cases, surely the vehicle isn't worth that final payment (never mind the silly interest rates). I wonder how many people actually do this - it all seems like a good idea in the beginning but, after 3 years, you have to start thinking about getting a huge wad together to pay for a car you're probably totally bored with. Just seems like a total rip-off.

It is a rip off.

I had a new carand i worked out that by the end of the 3 years, i would need to pay a final payment of just under it's value at that point. so not only would i have paid the deposit and then crippling monthly payments i would still not have anything to show for my money at the end other than a low value car.

AVOID!! well unless you are desprate for that car.

I gave mine up after a year so it was basically rented!

Looked into it but this needs to carry people, in comfort :D . Also, they seem to hold their value well, at stupidly high mileage.
