I also find it surprising how many people have no idea what a panel beater is.  O_O

Being in the same field, i really know what you mean.
"What do you do?"
"I'm a panel beater"
"A what?"
"I work with metal and fix accident damaged cars"
"Like a mechanic?"
"No"
So you paint them?"
"No"
"I dont get it?"
"I hit crashed cars with hammers"
"Oh... Sounds boring"
*facepalm*

Why do people ring up and ask for a skip exchange, however when I get there they're still loading it?

Also, why when I say about they can't put anything else on the skip, do they ask if I can take it away anyway. No the price is set for a level full skip, the fact you've overfilled it and now you want me to take extra away, go and have a good one!

Have you ever done something really awkward, and thought about it for like 8 years?

Many years ago, after getting frustrated with the directions from upper management, I told the guys that worked in my group "Every time we reinvent the wheel, we just add another flat spot on it".

One of the guys came back with "Once we put a whole bunch of  flat spots on the wheel, it will eventually be round again....."  O_O

Why do old people call Keyboards 'electronic piano's?'  and trainers, 'sneakers' or 'plimsolls'

Plimsoles are rather different to trainers! Also, I always used to get told off when I called my trainers shoes, they do the same job, and a trainer is surely a form of shoe?

My dad used to call trainers "tackies". No idea why. Sneakers is American and has no place in our language!

I don't know about anyone else but lately i have had old hacks as daily drivers. Well i say old hacks but what i mean is something normal and not special.

Anyway, why is it i never bother to thoroughly clean the car regularly yet when it comes to sell the car on, i take a whole day valeting it throughout leaving no stone unturned until it looks the best it possibly can.

Hang on a minute, i have driven round in this car for a year with it filthy and now i am sprucing it up for the benefit of someone else! why couldn't i make it clean for myself while i was using it?

Wierd.

Ben

Me too, just never have the time or the will to do it.

When i used to have nice cars, i always made the effort but these days i just don't seem to be bothered.

Mind you got some surgery to do next week on my daily so i might treat it to a wash and wax and henry can give the inside a tickle

I told my brothers they werent allowed to touch my mini for how precious it is
So now they think its a honour to be allowed to clean it (only let them do inside & occassionally the first wash over)
Therefore i have free slaves to clean mine :D
