Because it would be really stupid to fly thousands of light years to another planet only for them to be killed due to a mid air with a terrestrial air craft just because they couldn't be seen.

Without googling it, who here knows the words to their national anthem?

An American friend of a mate of mine was astonished that most of us he asked did not know the words to God save the Queen.

Apart from "God save our gracious queen..." all I know about ours (Great Britain) is that Liechtenstein has the same tune.

Which version of 'God Save The Queen'? ....It's been around since the 1700's & has continually changed over the centuries .

Our inability to remember the words to 'God Save The Queen' might be considered by others to be due to apathy -but to me it's a sign of a TRUE Democracy.... In other countries it's dictated by the State that you learn the words to the National anthem & swear an Oath of Allegiance to whoever holds power.

Bit difficult for us to swear an Oath of Allegiance as we have a Constitutional Monarchy, & i'm more inclined to swear at politicians than to them.

 

Before 1931 the US national anthem was considered to be 'America (My Country, Tis Of Thee)'.

Same tune as 'God Save The Queen'  -verse 13 starts "Trump of glad jubilee!" -spooky!

It's currently 2:30ish am here in Japan and I can't sleep as my body is telling me is early evening UK time.

As expected I'm already having random thoughts of the day.

Why are Japanese pillows filled with beans rather than feathers? They are actually quite comfortable and mould to you well but they don't loose their shape so if you slightly move to the side they become really uncomfortable. You have to shake them to flatten them back out.
