Why did I bother paying £30 for a letter off my doctors to say that I suffer from diabetes and I have to carry needles with me? I have never been stopped and asked by airport security. I was stopped yesterday and had my bag searched because of a metal tag on my work ID and my belt that I forgot to take off, not because of my insulin. Also why is the letter only valid for 10 years? Its not like I am suddenly going to get over being diabetic.

Don't understand this. Whenever I go abroad I just get a letter from the Diabetic Clinic at the hospital for free. And it doesn't have a expiry date either. Sounds like your Doctor is onto a moneyspinner.

Yeah I agree, I've had one letter since I was 10 and it has been fine. If I could suddenly not be diabetic after 10 years, I would be very happy :)

Haha, you win  :D

On the airport medication checks, I've only ever had to show them the doctors letter once in Dubai, everywhere else they have never checked... Then again everywhere else was South Africa and India (both have pretty terrible airport security)  O_O

Amazingly I didn't get checked in the USA. Yet they opened my suitcase and destroyed my disposable razor. Bizarre.

Yeah they gave me grief in Cape Town about some aftershave in my carry on, but said nothing about a 6 month supply of insulin and disposable needles. I think they just wanted the aftershave for themselves :P

Neither do I. Its the first time I've ever been charged for one. I tried to argue with them but they just turned around and said, "its either £30 or no letter". I paid as I was leaving two days later. As its for work I will be claiming it back on expenses anyway. If work wants they can argue the cost with my doctors.

I had to get a letter when I went over to Ireland to say I as safe to fly with my ankle broken, but no one checked it, I think it helped that I could walk without crutches, however it did get swabbed by the security, to make sure it wasn't concealing anything. Also, on the topic of security checks, I managed to get through a bottle of Lynx shower gel out there, but it got taken off me on the way home.

Why are baby sitters called baby sitters and not baby watchers?

In my case I don't know what I would want to keep the head or the body. Neither is in very good shape. Maybe I need a whole replacement

Why even at the age of 25 do I still want to pull the looped bit of a tied shoelace to undo it rather than the bit you are supposed to pull. I know that it will not end well if I pull the looped bit but there is still part of me every time I undo my shoes that wants to pull it.

Has anyone else ever bitten into something after thinking it was one thing and then only to find it is another and despite liking both item's your brain just goes, "Euuuuughhhhh NO!!!" and prevents you from liking it for the rest of the meal? I did this earlier today. I took a bite out of what I thought was a sausage roll only to find it was a cheese and onion roll. I like both sausage rolls and cheese and onion rolls but after being mentally prepared for it to be a sausage roll it just tasted odd and I couldn't finish it.

There was a H&M advert on tv just advertising bikini tops for only £9.99 to which my mum turned round and said, but what about the bottom half?

She has a point. Who only buys a bikini top? Surely someone would buy them as a set?

Its so much easier being a bloke. We only have to buy a set of shorts.

What would get further before wearing out? A mk1 mini when it was brand new or my sister's shoe collection?

To give you an idea of the size of my sister's shoe collection it was only until about a year ago when her other half was made redundant and had time to really tidy up the house did we know that there was a floor to their hallway.
