this looks amazing.. what a transformation.. shame about the bastards trying to nick your wheels :/
quick question, how much did they charge for the bodywork and paint?
keep up the amazing work
sam

The bodywork and paint came to £1000, the guys there also ordered the extra parts, like new front panel, rear window rubbers, grille, quite a few other bits on top etc, which came to around £400 on top.

that isn't too bad.. I will be able to source panels much cheaper.. (I was quoted £42 +VAT for the front wings and A panels

it only needed a front panel, not wings or anything else. It was a ready bumpered one too, the total cost of everything was a bargain, considering it would have been around £600 worth of stuff if i had sourced them all myself.

I would defiantly recommend the guys who sorted my mini, they were quick, and kept me up to date (Sending my pics as it went along via text message), they were just generally nice guys and really flexable. The job they have done seriously nice, and Paul (the chap there) is just a total dude. Deffo worth the money in my opinion.

The block is stamped with 12 g 1279, which from what i have searched means its from an Austin 1300 gt. What is confusing me though it is has a 11 stud head, but it hasn't been machined for the head, so its held down with 9 studs.

haven't updated this in a long time, mainly because I've been enjoying have my car freshly painted, and also because I've only been undertaking minor tasks, such as replacing rubber seals, and weather proofing the car, as the sudden wet weather led to some unforeseen issues. The doors are now totally weather proofed. I've also really only been 'accessioning' the car, but i did make quite a major purchase.

Set of genuine 13x8 revolution wheels.

Also got a new steering wheel as a gift from my brother, the standard steering wheel centres are kind of bland, so i decided to modify the centre to be more like the older minis.

it actually polished up nicely, but still has some sign of ware. Not sure if i like it though.

Cool car mate, it's come a long way since you first got it! The wheels arent for me. It's ripe for the Mk2 rear treatment, Mk1 front and the usual tens and archless, but that's me! Glad to see you still have it :)

Thanks man, I was originally going for the Mk1/2 style but now im taking it in a slightly different direction of a more fast road classic. I still want to keep the more period styles like the grille, and the group 2 arches, but give it a more racey look opposed to luxury.
