My mate's wife hand painted hers with blackboard paint and dusted it over with Great Mills glitter paint..... Cost about 20 quid and actually looked reasonably good

my mate used to have one in candy apple red with a bucket load of huge gold flakes in it, it looked pretty cool.
it can be tricky to apply though as you need to get a pretty even coverage of the flakes

i went for a small (tiny) orange flake to go in my lambo orange paint, every now and then in the right sunshine it sparkles like crazy. i like it (obviously)
its a really flippy orange anyway in the sun but the flake just adds that little extra. it looks so different in bright light then normal light

Why don't you try vinyl, KPMF and other suppliers offer a cast glitter film. It's not designed for wrapping but it is extremely conformable and not to expensive. I played about with some pink glitter vinyl for my friend's wife not so long ago, good results.
