Oh, and Chop, your inspiration was called "Claustrophobia" and was built by Andy Saunders in about 1983/4. Don't know if it's still about though.
How Many Roof Chopped Minis Are There Out There?

Looking at the 'Mad chop's infills in the roof, I'd say it's had the same cut out of the pillars as my 'Chop' has had (6")
I like it..... Wonder what happened to it?

Just checked it. Tax ran out 2 months after the Riv Run. In 1995...
And the blue one's not been on the road since 2001. Shame.

Looks like something has fallen ontop of it. Surely that wouldn't be road legal now? I doubt you can see much around you.. The people who drive these must be tiny too ha, I'm just under 5ft and I don't think I'd have much head space in there.

Saved from what? It's never happened, not one single example of it ever happening.

Well I love it........ each to their own eh? I'd rather own this and keep it garaged than own a boring roadgoing car

Why on earth would you rather have a car that sits in your garage? Cars are build to be driven..

I have as much 'fun' building them as I do driving them.
There's an art to building something a little 'off the wall'.
I happen to admire the creative spirit that goes into customising vehicles and making one off parts, rather than just bolting on over-the-counter goodies.
For me, it's more about fettling in the workshop and having pride in what I do. I don't HAVE to drive it- it's for MY pleasure!

It's not really off the wall when quite a few people have done it.. But yeah, each to their own and all that jazzzzzzzz.
