This Mini is a bit more than a roof chop but it made the record books at the time.
Down to earth? Perry Watkins with his 23inch high Mini; it's rather frightening to drive......
Perry Watkins, wanted to build the world's lowest Mini. This might seem like an odd ambition, except that Perry was co-respondent for the world's lowest Hillman Imp, a pink, compressed thing, which at 26.5 inches high has been a Guinness Book of Records inductee since the early 1990s. Perry built his Mini, and at 23 inches it manages to undercut its predecessor by 3.5 inches.

There used to be a purple one near me, although this was probably 10 or 15 years ago. There was a pizza delivery guy who used to have all sorts of minis, including this crazy purple chopped beast. No idea what happened to it but it's not here anymore
Last time I saw him, he was still delivering pizzas but not in a mini :-(

my mates had a couple, this blue one and a black supercharged pickup (its clearly a south west thing!!!)
pretty sure the blue one is dead and scrapped but no idea of the black one, easy to spot... fully chromed engine, black pearl flake paint, large BMC pressed tailgate lid

Is that Glenns blue one? I'm sure we've got a picture of that in the work shop.

I remember seeing a VERY chopped Mini on the first Riviera Run in 95 (it was also at L2B IIRC) which was an old 1000 with something ridiculous like 8 or 9 inches taken out. It wasn't properly finished but I do have some pics somewhere so I will have to dig em out & scan them. It looked very strange!
There were actually 2 chopped Minis on the Riv Run in 95. The mental 8" chop unfinished one (think he won the "Spirit of the Event" award) & a very slick blue one in the show & shine. Not sure about his arrangement of his front indicators, but that aside, it looked a nice job.
Mad chop!
Mad Chop again!
