Well, slowly getting it ready for the MOT, found these little spacers that lower the car to chrome bumper height, £10. Fitted them, and took the air filter housing off and kept the standard filters on. Got the rear lowering kit on order as well.

Also got a picture with the Lab inside =D

Busy weekend, fitted the rear lowering kit, good result.

Replaced oil and filter, and pil pressure spring, got a healthy 80psi and 40psi on tick over. Replaced cv gaiter and had tomorder track rod ends, will probably have to order 4 tyres to be on the safe side.

Went to get tax at the local post office, was too late, closed....nice excuse to get the hood down on the way home,

When i got back i noticed a puddle on the carpet, thought it was just water off my shoes, dipped my finger in it and gave it a lick.....yuck, brake fluid! Took the cover off, brake master cylinder leaking.....happy days! Got a repair kit on order.

Is also nice to see people replying on this thread :/

Looking good domneon, rubber bumpers are a bit underrated :)

Well, ive been using the car to go to work past 2 days, what a great drive. Just as nippy with the steering as the mini, but with buckets more torque

Thanks mrbounce

Not so much good news, around 2500rpm+ there is quite a rattle, knowing the problem with these engines, i suspect bearings are getting worn, ive ordered some and an oil cooler to be on the safe side. At least you can change the bearings with the engine in situ, im happier to sort engine problems than bodywork (as we all know)

I've got the chance to buy 2 of these. Are they fun to drive like minis?

They are brilliant cars, totally different to a mini but still great fun. Best bet is to get a go in one and see if you like it. If you go for an early one it will have the familiar A-series engine, later ones had the 1500 triumph engine which isn't bad but doesn't have as many (or as cheap) tuning possibilities. Either way they are a great car to own.

They're both rubber bumper so will they be the 1500 Triumph then?

I'm in 2 minds. Get a second mini, or buy the 2 midgets. I was considering just buying the best of the 2, but I might as well have both because they've been sat for long enough now. I've always liked midgets, never thought of actually owning though

Yes they will be, don't let it put you off they are still great cars. As long as they are cheap as chips go for it. They don't fetch much money so if they need wor. They should be yours for pennies. Look how nice this threads one is for not a lot of cash.
