i never expected it to make over £1000 to tell you the truth ..there was offers.. quite a few really ..but again i was more interested in the story

It is interesting if nothing else. Many people may view it as "just another knackered Mini" but it is all about the history behind it.
If I'd bought it I would be in 2 minds to either show it as an unrestored exhibit or make it good and use it as a race car.

just told my father in law the story. he is kicking himself saying, (shame it wasn't on ebay, could have gone to 5k.). personally i think Steve did a great thing for motor history, well done mate.

I think I have worked it out correct, is it about £400 entry/final fees to take off the final price?
Also, are you still donating anything to the Acorns Charity?
Hopefully whoever bought it will share it with people and not keep it with themselves (such as take it to shows etc).
Good try anyway Steve, it certainly got press coverage through it.

Thats good to know (about the charity) shame about the auction costs, that said I have seen othe auctions, inlcuding eBay that charge a lot more for fees!
