so, thats Le Mans out the way..... in other news....

MY STEELIES ARE BEING BANDED!!!!

dropped them off with Banded Wheels Essex last weekend, should ave them back in about a week, cant wait!!!  :w00t:

solenoid is also fixed, but it seems that the timing was what was causing all the misfiring, but anyway, the engine is running sweet as a nut now. i would highly recommend the Durite solenoids over the ones from minispares. the quality is sooooo much better.

as for the loud clonking noises, im pretty sure the passenger side ball joints are on their way out. ive got a new set on its way form minispares, but it has yet to arrive.

you may also notice the addition of black and silver plates. i know its naughty, but they look so much better! .... i wont tell anyone if you wont  :shifty:

thanks a lot mate!  :proud:

theyre early 13" sprite steelies, started out as 13x4.5 (i think). cost me £80 for the set which i think is pretty good considering theyre pretty hard to come by now... getting them banded to 13x7 with altered backspacing for perfect fitment  ;D. im also getting them sand blasted and powder coated black.

heres what they looked like when i dropped them off....

doooo iit!!! definately the highlight of my year  :D ... well the mini made it all the way there and back again (took about 10 hours driving each way) but it definitely took its toll lol. as soon as i got off the ferry in calais i noticed a few misfires when going up hills. this got worse and worse as the journey went on so spoilt thing a little bit. didnt break down though!!! after limping it back to england i found it was a combination of the solenoid being pretty much toast, and for some reason no gap in the points! got all that sorted and its running nicely now.

had more problems though haha, started knocking really badly from the left front. i think the ball joints are on the way out, and ill probably do the bearings as well.... aaaaand, all the weight of me, my dad, and all our crap in the back meant the suspension decided to suddenly lower itself on the way back, turns out one of my bump stops have split, which means i need to raise it up a bit at the front. bye bye epic stance  :( ... i have big plans for the car though, so it should be back down and lower than before soon  ;D

oh yeah, and im having the steelies powder coated black by the guy whos doing the banding to save me a bit of hassle

Car is looking sweet Chris. Your banded steels sound really interesting. Think you'd be able to PM me the link of the guys who are doing them? (if they have a website)

picked this up off ebay for £20, really chuffed with it.

genuine 60s/70s springalex works racing wheel. only problem is id doesnt have any tabs to slot into the thing that works the indicators, so i had to improvise a bit lol. ill put some pics up of it on the car later
