Do you ever run a bonnet?
I do indeed. I have a single skin fiberglass bonnet with quick release hinges so I can whip it off easily for shows and photos

Hi Chris, just caught up with your build, as the internet has been poor offshore.

Thanks mate! Yep I never know when to call it a day
Probably not if I'm honest man, I like Mini shows, but not enough to travel all that way for one. I'm the same with any single make show to be honest, I just really like variety! It's the reason I mainly stick to the Modified shows, as well as the acceptance for stuff that is wildly different haha. I do plan to try and get to more UK Mini shows though, like L2B, Brooklands, Bingley, Himley. Stanford, etc.

Haha great idea! Now I'm wondering if Quad SU's could actually work? Maybe small ones like 1.1/8"?

I've made my own custom bump stops that are only about 15mm thick, and the car sits a couple mm off them.

I appreciate that it might not be about this, but how does it ride and drive? Sorry if you've covered this before, but it'll take me a while to get through the 50 pages.

No worries! Obviously it doesn't ride as well as would if it was on 10s and set up for handling, but it's not as bad as you would imagine. The shocks are very stiff, but it does have some travel, and I can get full lock both ways without rubbing even under load. The front subframe lift has helped with the suspension geometry, and the KAD hubs move the ball joints into a much better position too. This car doesn't get an easy life, and I give it a good thrashing every time I take it out. It tram lines a bit on the motorway but on the country roads it brilliant fun, the engine has the low down power to pull it up any hill like a train. Something else to note, I have to lift it a good 2 inches for the MOT every year, and it really doesn't make much difference to the handling
I've always said if I had another Mini it would be the most period correct track build you can imagine, but as you can probably tell I'm not very good at following the crowd
