Thanks a lot guys! Really appreciate it. I'm off for the retest in half an hour so we#ll see how it gets on!

Your car looks amazing!!  Great work.  I really enjoy the "stance isn't just for the rich" sticker around the turn signal.  Great touch.

Thanks mate. That sticker is from a company called 'broke boys', I got it off their stand at a car show. It's like it was made to fit!

I don't think that's right about the carbs either - I had twin 1 1/4s on my 1302 Mayfair and that kicked out 79bhp with similar torque. Still, looking good!

That's what I thought! Strange... I can't think what would be causing it to be down on power. But yeah, cheers man  :D

That's sick mate! Nice one, can't wait to see this at some shows ;-)?

Thanks dude! Keep your eyes peeled!! I'll hopefully be at a fair few  ;D

Well then... It passed the MOT by it's not over yet. At the moment the only gauge that works is the temp gauge, and now that seems to have packed in too. Suddenly the dial has decided to stop reading normal, and now tells me it's so hot that the engine is about to explode, even though under the bonnet all seems to be fine. I've just given the car hell for about half an hour trying to make it overheat but it won't, even though the gauge reads hot.... Baffled!

Spotted your car in Coventry last weekend! Glad to see it passed the MOT

Ahh no way! Was wondering if anyone had spotted me haha.

I guess the cat's out of the bag then! She's officially on the road!! I've been driving about a fair bit after it's maiden voyage up to Coventry for the Motofest (which was AMAZING). I was allowed into the show and shine in the town center, where I was immediately swarmed with people. At the end of the day the ring road race track was opened to the public for a few a few parade laps, so I thought it would be rude not to take it for a blast!!  ;D It ran faultlessly for the whole weekend despite the temp gauge reading hot constantly. Have yet to figure out why any of the guages won't work.

Anyway, here's a couple cheeky pics from the Motofest.

After my return from Coventry, I made a little styling addition which I've been planning for a while now. I got this differential cooler from someone who was breaking a Nissan 200SX, and set about cannibalizing it.

In case you were wondering, yep, it's completely fake  I've just always loved the look of external oil coolers. I imagine it will probably divide opinions!

Anyway, so after a test run to Coventry, the obvious next step is to drive it all the way to France for Le Mans... Obviously... So yeah, that's what I'm doing! I leave at 6am in a convoy of 5 other cars including my Dad's '59 Frogeye Sprite. She's all stickered up, and I'm feeling the hype!! Will report back on how it went when I return on Monday. In the mean time, have some more photos.

I'm not a fan of the big wheel massive arches look but your car really does just look GOOD!  The arches actually seem to fit and flow unlike most of them................ even the Faux oil cooler looks the business, well done and good luck on the trip to Le Mans.

Just looking again at the pictures and thinking Mmmm 4in out of the roof....................................

If you're in france why not drive the 300 miles to germany and come visit?

Stunning. I have to leave a cup by my laptop now to collect my drool after looking at your beast.

I have just spent the last 2 hours with many brews reading through this
I absolutely love what you have achieved and I sort of want to do something similar to this with my 2nd mini, which is in need of a full resto.

I can't wait to see this thing in person at a few shows this year hopefully, and maybe shake your hand for doing a bloody good job.

I love your mini, mostly the way it sits.. I'm constantly looking at the pics, over and over again .. The oil cooler is that small detail that makes all the difference!

Congrats!

Stop making me want another mini. The oil cooler looks great, I always wanted to do this but a functioning one for my mini. Keep up the good work and good luck in France.
