slipped to page 5... what is this madness!!
just a tiny update... deseaming and filling the arches to the body was the worst idea ive ever had. its cracking all over the shop, which is a bit disheartening. its particularly bad at the front of the front right wheel arch. i think the wheel might be hitting the inside of the arch so ill be out with the grinder soon to take some of it away on the inside.
i might also sand it down and fill/paint it again when ive got time
ill be back soon with pics
cheers for following guys

update time! not a lot has changed, but anyway... first things first, i finally managed to tint my rear lights without making a complete arse of it.
i think it looks so much better imo. i was sick of those chavy white lenses.
moving on, like i mentioned above, filling my arches to the body was a stupid idea. heres the damage so far.
this is the front of the drivers side front wheels arch...
and this is the seam below the left headlight...
and this is why the arch had cracked. the tire had been puling the metal away from the arch. luckily it still kept its shape due to the shed load of fiberglass i put behind it.
me and dad were out there today and have ground some of the metal away and coated it in stone chip. ill take it for a spin tomorrow to see if its made a difference.
on another note... after seeing how well UBSTANKN's wheels turned out, ive been considering plasti-dipping my wheel centers matte black. i think it would make a nice contrast with the gloss black lips, and it would match the other matte black stuff on the car.... what do people recon?
thats all for now, cheers guys.

I think that would make the wheels look pretty smart. I have to admit I wasn't a fan of the black dish until you sanded the outer rims down to make it look a lot better.
The grill and stripes matching is pretty cool.
Its a shame about all the cracking though.

thanks a lot man, yeah now looking back i cant believe i didnt do it sooner, it looks so much better . like i mentioned above, i think ive sorted the rubbing problem so at some point im planning on sanding down/filling/repainting the areas that have cracked

picked up my cage yesterday, looks like it in a lot better condition than i thought it was . i thought it would need to be stripped and repainted but looks like it just needs a good clean and polish.
also, i didnt realize quite how old it was. the FIA certificate that came with it is dated 1981! ... ill get some pics up tomorrow

Love this Mini, it might have even inspired me to paint mine black. Just need to decide whether or not to have a different colour roof.
Looking forward to some more updates

Hey man,
Just a quick question… is your lamp bar and spots from Huddersfied Spares? I've seen this on their website...
http://www.minispare...r-classic-mini/
Have you put any different spots on? Yours look great, I'm worried I'll end up buying dodgey cheap ones if I'm not careful!
Beauty thread, have been reading for a while!
