Loving the mini, looks awesome so far, especially the engine.  Where was it you got those hoses from?  looking for some for mine and not fancying the standard colours available from the main places.

Thanks very much! The hoses came from Merlin Motorsport. Really good site, not cheap though!

Thanks mate!

Yep, once the car comes back from paint then everything should fall into place quite quickly :proud:  The end of June is still my deadline.

News from the paint shop, and it's not good...

Apparently the blistering on the bulkhead and under the headlights is due to there being moisture under the primer that I applied before sending it to paint. It's only where I have sprayed primer onto bare metal, but it still means the whole front of the car has to be stripped and resprayed, which I have to pay for because it was my fault.

Gutted is an understatement... I'll be lucky if the car is ready for any shows this year.

Sorry to hear that man! At least you know what the issue is and can get it rectified now.

cheers man, I went to have a look today and to be fair, the car looks absolutely stunning, no eggshell or runs anymore. But now I'm worried if there is moisture under the paint anywhere else that could show itself at any time in the future  fingers crossed all will be well though. It's going to cost me an extra £4-500 to have it fixed though

Better now than later when moisture has lead to rot.

Sorry to hear this.

But.. this is why most places won't entertain doing paintwork on cars that have been prepped by the customer. At least on this occasion it seems to have been all sorted ammicably. He is lucky to have a customer that understands and accepts the problem instead of insisting that it is the fault of the painter.

SO any idea when you will get it back?

Thanks mate, In all fairness to him, he did warn me about possible reactions, but he did also say his 'sealer coat' he was going to apply would prevent any reactions. I't certainly true that he has dealt with it professionally. The way I see it, he owned up to the mistakes he made, so it's only right for me to own up to the ones I made.

Not sure just yet, he said he would let me know very soon and exact price and timescale, I would assume maybe another 2-3 weeks which is fair enough. I'm a bit stuck now since I've done everything I can without the car! Everything is ready to be bolted back on! Just need the shell itself now lol. I've got a few more pics of odd jobs I've done that I've been meaning to upload, so I'll get round to that at some point.
