Knowing me I would have wiped all the paint out of the letters at the same time
That's what I did the first time. This was my second attempt

Waaazzaaaap guys.
I've decided to try and post smaller, but more regular updates from now on so I don't end up letting tings build up.
Right so what have I been up to...
Firstly just a bit more cleaning, wire brushing, and refurbishing of various parts, starting with the brake dust covers which were pretty grim.
Heater valve (shocking pick... soz)
Distributor clamp bracket thing (no before pic)
And this gearstick gator plate thing...
Then while hunting for a new dipstick I came across this on Ebay, Had to have it!! ...... Dunu nunu nunu nunu, nunu nunu nunu nunu... etc...
And here is the Engine pretty much cmpletely finished, now with added distributor, plug leads, coil, and dipstick. It's been a labour of love, but I'm bloody happy with how it looks. Hopefully a bit different to the usual red block and blue hoses!
You may also have spotted my new timing chain breather arrangement. The breather hit the fan so had to relocate it. I'm quite pleased with it myself! Just a bit of shiny pipe, a piece of old heater hose, some jubilee clips, and a homemade bracket at the top.
Moved onto my top dash rail next. Got the plastic vents all rubbed down and sprayed gloss black.
And then with the help of my dad, I managed to fit the new vinyl cover that I bought for the dash rail, before refitting the vents. Pretty chuffed with it!
And finally, I decided to fix up the old school toolbox I got recently.
Before:
And after a splash of blue hammered hammerite (whilst being careful to preserve the remains of the original logo on the front):

It's coming together awesomely! Nice work on the finish off all the parts, is that just normal gloss black spray?
Cheers man! Some stuff is, and some stuff is hammerite direct to metal spray :) Depends on how durable I feel it needs to be haha.

Engine looks nice, the purple and yellow seem to go well together with the black block and rocker cover. The studs are an interesting touch and i like that radiator lettering / breather. nice one

Thanks man! I wasn't sure ho people would react since this is quite different from the norm, but I'm glad to see that people approve so far!

Loving the mini, looks awesome so far, especially the engine. Where was it you got those hoses from? looking for some for mine and not fancying the standard colours available from the main places.
