There's a City E in a local showroom near me - it's in some sort of metallic gold. Don't know the name of it, but it's yuck!

Sienna gold pearl, perhaps?

Having googled it, quite possibly.

sandglow yellow and russet brown are my least favourite

Bought a brand new 1275GT in 1979 for £2500 because it was Sandglow and nobody wanted it. It's a horrible colour especially with those striped seats of that era that look like they've been pinched from a deck chair. The Mini that followed in was Russett Brown too.

Best : Astral Blue Metallic on a 998 Mayfair. Unfortunately Mrs Govig trashed it before it was a year old.

Speedwell Blue is great.

Marigold is a good colour. It was used on Mini Vans in the early 1960's

I thought I'd dig this thread up as I'm not sure about what colour to paint the mini for my missus. I originally wanted to do it a cadburys purple colour but she has said she like red but not bright gloss red so I'm thinking one of the deeper metallic shades of red so wondered what peoples opinions of the metallic reds in particular are.

I like nightfire but looks like the cherry red is also a nice colour.
