heres some info.............http://www.aronline....9-1100-special/

what colour is yours?.............it should be either silver or rose, if the interior isnt complete then you will have the devils own job of finding trim for it, there was quite a lot of differences between the 1100 special and the mainstream mini's.

That is a very nice special edition.

It should have special alloy wheels, 4.5 x 10" and graphics along the body just above the sill level.
I'm sure someone will have some photos of an 'as original' one.
They are becoming very collectable and will increase in value so long as the originality is preserved or restoration to standard is carried out.

You have a great little car.

Shes the rose colour.. with the Vinyl roof that is abit flakey... the car its self is completely solid and has the decails etc... but in that picture its missing the centre console.... DAMN IT >_<  ... so got to find one of those.... that website is brilliant thanks for the link!!..

And cooper man i shall pop some pics up of the wheels... see if they are correct the look like the ones in the picture... but dont want to be 100% sure..  would any one have ideas of were i can come buy some interior parts or should i go grab a knife and stab as much as i can in the dark hahaha

i think that newton commercial have started replicating the seat covers for the rose mini specials, the original vinyl roofs are no longer available in the correct type or colour of vinyl but i believe that there is a ford vinyl that is a close match, you sometimes see the centre consoles pop up on ebay now and again but be prepared to pay around £80 for an original one (i had 2 spare ones but i sold them) you will also get an original steering wheel off ebay for about £20-£30

i still have an original 1100 special radio in the garage though!

the interior is not the same as the 1275GT, its completely different., if you are restoring the special back to original then it will take a long time to find all of the bits, it took me over 2 years to find all of the correct bits for mine.

the grille is the 11 slat grille in black (the same as the late 70's mini 1000) and has the "special" badge.......i have 2 of these....... ;-)

It should also have the Clubman rear bumper at the front and rear, which I thought should be black but it's chrome in the pictures above.  There is a plastic glovebox hanging under the dash rail, you can just see it in the photos but it's not obvious if you aren't looking.  The radio I believe was connected to a single speaker in the console.  It has a clock and a cigarette lighter which was unusual at the time (one of only two factory Minis with a lighter point).  The shell of the console is available as a reproduction part from ABS Minis but they don't do any of the fittings for it, there should be a vent strip in the section that kinks backwards for the heater outlet and the speaker grille.

One of the guys in the Irish Mini Owners Club got a new vinyl roof from the states.Looks to be a pretty good colour match but my god do they cause the roof to rot at the gutters.

My word that takes me back !!  With the exception of the engine bay that's pretty original, just like mine was when I bought it in 1990.

I'm sure I've put a list of the "special" bits up here before but from memory : Clubman rear bumpers front and rear.  1275GT instruments.  1100cc engine (strangely mine was also an 1100cc A+ block, which wasn't available in the home market at all, and A+ was not due to arrive until 1980 with the launch of Metro).  All these were perhaps to use up the remaining stock of Clubman/GT parts as the Clubman model line finished in 1980.  Exacton alloy wheels, which became standard on Mayfair models, wheel spats which became standard from 1984 on.  Allegro steering wheel.  Yes really !!  Centre console with push-button Unipart radio, speaker, clock and cigarette lighter.  Underdash companion bin.  Vinyl roof colour depending on body colour.  Graduated side stripes incorporating anniversary laural motif also repeated on steering wheel.  Black grill with "Special" badge.  Rear badge reads "Mini 1100".  Unique interior similar to other lesser mini models of the era, again colour dependent on body colour ( and it gets dirty really easily !!).  Mine also had the exact same sunroof, so this may have been a customer option.
