'chop' this is simply stunning work, read that you're really disheartened by the BIVA and it'd be such a shame to see all the work you've done come to nought.
you need to beat the BIVA for the sake of all minikind !!

Upholstery foam arrived today, so thought I'd have a less taxing day in the garage making my door cards.....
Well, 3 hours later and I've barely scratched the surface of the 1st one!
I've got the making of the beer bottletop buttons down to 2 mins per button- 28 taking me over 2 hours
Trouble is, I reckon I need 700+ to finish it..... Much patience needed

I need to make another 18 button for this card so I can get some diagonals in there i.e.
o o o o o o o
o o o o o o
o o o o o o o
o o o o o o
o o o o o o o
Oh well, just another 650+ to make

Hard to explain......
So I did a sketch
Picture 156.jpg 165.46K 47 downloads Button made up of split fastener pushed through washers and bottletop crimped onto these
Picture 155.jpg 21.44K 64 downloads sort of close up of how it's attached. The bamboo forces the split legs of the fastener apart and stops it pulling out (and yes, I do know you can get 'fir tree' interior fasteners..... but they are like 10 pence EACH- one VERY TIGHT mini owner )
Clear as mud, eh?

And the paintwork is stunning.
This car is just the kick I need to get my own chop project finished.
I'm debating whether to take the roof down again. Currently 3 inch chop, but love the look of 6 inches. And so does the missus, lol.
