this is so awesome! cant wait to see it in the flesh one day. you've probably mentioned this before, but is the wood airbrushed or vinyl wrapped? either way it looks insane!

Found these on an old camera.

 

I was going to do it as a rally rep at one point, hence the fitting of spots...... Was going to be tartan red, black roof/ door numbers/ works dash/ low back buckets.....

 

It then went through a stage of being painted camo on the driver's side- to see what it was going to look like. The idea was to put RAF roundels on the doors and drill holes in lines and use pop rivets to fill them again..... WW2 fighter plane stylee....Haven't found photos of that stage yet..Maybe do that on another one, one day!!

Well, since I've last been on here updating stuff, Chop has done several mini club meets and runs.

 

Did the Mouth 2 Mouth run a month of so ago and just came back from the Miniworld action day at Castle Combe, followed by a local hillclimb (I didn't run Chop up it though)

 

I've attended quite a few 'classic' car shows- most of the time I've been welcomed and comments have been kind (although the 'dyed in the wool' classic buffs don't always understand.......)

 

"What a waste of a perfectly good classic car"..... Well, stuff'em, it's my car and there are hundreds of late 70s minis out there already..... I've just saved another of them from the scrappies

 

Banging in quite a few miles now and go out in the evenings for a quick blat, just because.

So far *touching wood*   I haven't had any real issues... Ran out of fuel twice, because the gauge wasn't as accurate as I thought and lost electrics due to a poor earth. These probs were easily cured. The original untouched piece of the wiring loom was tempermental, but all my own extra wiring hasn't caused any grief.

 

I'm enjoying the driving now and have got used to the way Chop feels.... 'Other' cars are now flashing and waving and most people smile, laugh or point (which is all good)

 

I even had a BINI flash the other day!!! What's the etiquette there guys?? I thought flicking the 'Vs' was a little unsociable, so I just shook my head... I hope that's acceptable.... Anyway, this is MY thread so if I can't have an anti-BMW rant every now and again on here, then what's the point eh?

 

Might have to extend my limited 1500 miles a year policy.......

 

Anyhow..... See you on the road and give me a honk/ flash (NEARLY all vehicles welcome  )
