mine came in at under £500 but i all ready had some of the bits and i fabricated everything
whole micra £150
steel for frame £40
carbs £60
fuel pump £35
engine mounts £15
shafts welded £35 (i think)
things that i already had
megajolt £250 ish these days
MPi rad and fan £80 ish
the suspension i managed to keep standard with out any modification at all
can just about see that its all normal in this pic
the gear linkage is probably the easiest part,
- take the nissan linkage cut it in half,
- bolt one half to the car
- then the other to the box,
- line up the shafts,
- mark them up
- cut to length
- weld back together
i think the question to ask is how many people would go back to the A series? i'd guess that most people who have done this (and other conversions) would not.
its not just the power, its the way a mini drives with this conversion, everybody thats been in mine have been blown away with the smoothness, the delivery of power and the sheer driveability of the car. they still have the "feel" of a mini but with enough power to have fun but not to much power to spoil the day to day driveability. I for one would certainly do this conversion again.

Have you spoken to Iain about a subframe? or someone else? Quote from Iain
I'm also trying to document it enough that I could help other people do it to their cars - Might even look at selling a modified subframe or two if there's a demand or modifying them for people in exchange for beer.

Forget about it, there's no need for it!
unless you want to fit it as an engineering exercise?

yep, just unbolt the pump, throw it in the bin and fit a diffrent belt (you might need to fabricate a tensioner pulley depending on your set up).
