Hi guy's, so following the crash in the rear i,ve been a little down just recently with my pride and joy being damaged but this weekend has released a lot of anger if im honest with a beautiful weekend drive up, stay overnight at my grandmas and a great drive back.

So far this weekend i,ve done just over 200miles so the metro's had a decent going over haha

Obviously with a journey like that its bound to find problems needing sorting and this travel up north saw just that  ,

We,ve found that the tyres are re-moulds and not the best as on the way up i found out, we had a slight vibration which got worse the further we went.#

Next theething problem was the ruddy exhaust which is banging against the floor, subframe and tank (fuel tank that is! O_O ) due to the previous owner welding a piece in and i think the way its mounted is wrong but not taken note yet.

The third and last issue we,ve had is the fueling which is erratic, during throttle there's a hesitation as if im being flitchy on the pedals, im having to use the choke as a "boost" if you like for certain inclines and different engine loads, at first i/we suspected the points, dizzy ect.. as you normaly would but having found out that using the choke tops that and stalling at lights even when the engines warm it had to be the carb/fueling side of things.

Ohh and better say that in lancaster we had an overheating problem which we pulled over (naturaly) after seeing steam billow from th heater intake in the bonnet Ooopps haha, just another issue found is that the kenlow fan doesnt work so time for an upgrade on that front  .

Anywhoo heres some photo's from the weekend...

First up is are stop half way up to see what that vibration was:

Here's my mum enjoying my great driving from the back haha:

DSCF2231_zps2ef27c10.jpg

Then this finaly let go 20ish miles from my grandmas:

DSCF2241_zps0f855ef5.jpg

DSCF2242_zps700ca43e.jpg

Lost almost all my steering when that went.

And after a very kind gentleman allowing me to use his jack (didnt take one DOH! >_< ) we had the spare on:DSCF2233_zps580b6be0.jpg

We arrived at are destination..

This was taken that day just a little later on:

Heres why a love my grandmas so much, this is the view from litraly outside her window!!:

Got back today and thought considering the journey cuey deserved a wash :proud: :

So there we are. thats the weekend haha, really had a good weekend trip up there and even coming back to are little dump

Cheers

Yeah gave it abit of a wash but not invested in anything like polish, G3 aor clay bar yet so theres plenty of room for improvment

Ooo that looks a belter Lewis, ahh yeah it will be repaired as soon as i get chance, had the estimator guy come round today and he's put it as a Cat C yet he's paying me 600 notes for me to put it right myself, was slightly confused as i thought Cat C meant it was a right off but seems not so today im quite a happy chap knowing i dont have to steal my own car from being crushed haha

Looks like i cant get that metro shell off this guy to repair mine due to lack of transport so if anyone knows of a car transporter who's available asap (tomorrow dinner at the latest) or another shell local to me please get it touch.

Cheers

Hello again guys and ladymen :P

Did a little investigation today on the loose rust bits i,ve spotted this weekend just gone in the sunroof gutter....not good news im afraid :/

Turns out theres a hole or should i say a few holes around the gutter/ roof seam and front offside drainage (big hole in this area).

So as a temp repair for washing Cuey and to stop it getting wet inside i,ve put some metal mickey in after wire brushing the rust there up as best as i can, also used the hoover for the loose rust haha.

Another little task i did before that was to make to rear look a little prettyer and more so normal (ruddy women drivers ey  ),

So i went about this by using 1 metal working hammer, some heavy duty body repair hydraulic push/pull tooling and the usual socket set....

This is the result of two trial fits and a few hours later....

This was taken after id washed the car today and give the rear bumper (and exhaust tip :P) a lick of paint to stop the cracked areas rusting and genraly looking terrible:

Heres a few of the sunroof gutter rust:

And the hole in question:

DSCF2254_zps0669263d.jpg

Might chop this exhaust tip down for now and stick a chrome tip on to smarten it up a litlle (opinions please ?):

All washed up and looking smart at the end of the days work on Cuey:

DSCF2259_zpse7104e0c.jpg

Also washed my old mans range rover, sandwiched my little car in!  :

DSCF2264_zps2a5d0f1d.jpg

Think mickey agree's it looks smashing (maybe not then haha):

Hello again Tmf forum of which is online 24/7 and awesome.....

So today someone delivered a..........DEAD METRO!!!!!!!!!! :'(  at my door and i proceeded today on cutting the poor thing up for the rear to repair cueyy.

It took a while to cut up as the grinder packed up half way through the job but it was warm and the brushes were fecked anywhoo, so i finished the job with an air cutting tool which is great!

So now i,ve chopped the remains up i,ve got a load of metro interior parts going spare plus the engine which im also looking to sell, had a rush about today as i thought i couldnt fit it in the yard so listed it on here quickly but i,ve started stripping all the front down and i'l take abit more time with price research ect.. and list as is appropriate.

Picture time :mrcool: .....

KNOCK KNOCK!!, "i,ve come to deliver your metro mate" , splended cheers pal......Oh dear lord!!.... :

Only wanted 8 inches of the rear, got a whole metro instead hahahaha, tiz the hauders ways :P

I,ve stupidly not pictured the magic rear piece but i will soon enough get pictures up, now i just need to clear a load of mini and metro stuff so i can get cuey's rear in the garage and cue the music.

Ta ta for now people of this earth..

Cheers

So now i,ve got my laptop back from repairs i'l do a little update on a few bits and bobs i,ve been up to recently...

What i thought id better do is clean up a few parts under the "HOOOOD" because im bound to be under there quite a bit no doubt so might aswell make it look half decent.

First things first was to clean the discoloured washer bottle and rad reservoir, i havent managed to clean out all the muck inside that but im thinking some kettle de-scaler should clear it out no trouble:

DSCF2275_zps5a787893.jpg

DSCF2277_zpse798095b.jpg

DSCF2297_zpse0134b0f.jpg

Next up for a clean in the coming weeks are these parts, most just need stripping down or off the car and re-painting properly:

DSCF2302_zps83a6b0a9.jpg

DSCF2304_zps43832eea.jpg

DSCF2303_zps9de3c539.jpg

And i,ve remover the kenlow fan which wasnt working, will have a strip and look at the parts as i might be able to just buy new brushes and get it back up and running, if not i'l go to the scrappy in bolton and whip off a newer version of the kenlow:

DSCF2305_zpsa1550f81.jpg

Ohh and a little mock up here, not sure if its worth the hassle though :P:
